As a young adult some years ago, I used to love reading ‘The Hindu’- a leading Indian daily Newspaper. My favourite section, especially, was its supplement ‘MetroPlus’. It had happening articles on Art, Culture, entertainment and significant work that was being done in those areas. I distinctly remember the amount of inspiration and motivation I used to feel reading those articles that highlighted work that was so new to me. What a weekend it was at the @chocoa.nl Chocolate Fair. I had never in my craziest of dreams imagined that I’d paint with Chocolate. Looking back, as I connect every single dot from the past few weeks, it all seems so magical. From how I stumbled upon @cacaomuseumamsterdam while on a random walk looking for Coffee, how I met Henkjan (the founder of the Museum) and started chatting about chocolate, workshops and painting with it, to him offering space at this fair that he was participating in and I had no idea about how big a deal it was and finally me being me, I would never say ‘No’ to an adventure ride- it was all meant to be. I can't stop. I've tried not to get one more thing for my house, not to mention my 50+ frames, both full and empty, and a heck of a batch of art supplies. This little blue glass vase was in a used bookstore (Bookmans) for $7. I tried to walk by, and in a full throated masculine shout out, it said, "Don't you dare leave me here." So despite its impolite social attitude, I bought it. In my house, it calmed right down and made friends with all my other glass pieces.
St. Paddy’s will always be near and dear to my heart. My Irish family has always celebrated this day (my brother even named his son Padric) and I try to continue that tradition. SUN ROOM Can you believe this is the same room ?! We had this transformed from a very draughty, cold room that we were told was at the end of it's economic life, to this! It was called the Sun Room on the estate agents brochure, and as you can see from the after photo there is a good reason for this! Reno regret and decision fatigue is real and our biggest regret is this sofa … sure it’s pretty and the velvet is surprisingly resilient. Buuuuut.. the colour isn’t quite right and my word is it the most uncomfortable seating in history. It’s built to last so we are stuck with it and can repent at leisure. The lesson here is don’t buy on line, make the effort to go and sit, lie, bounce on that sofa even if you’ve been searching for 4 months and are sick of the whole process (and are camping in the living room on what you think of as the most uncomfortable chairs known to man). B i r t h d a y G i r l Heute wurde bei uns wieder Geburtstag gefeiert. Harry Potter steht noch immer hoch im Kurs und dementsprechend gab es dazu etwas Deko. Es gab Tiramisu Torte und Tramezzini.
