It’s coming up to a year ago when Hank got seized by the police (24/5/23). He wasn’t innocent in the matter and did bite someone. He’d never shown aggression towards people before and had actually spent 8 months in my salon with me greeting 60+ people a week. Due to lack of communication within the police, and some other reasons he was in police custody for 7 months. Going in over a bite he has come out with some severe reactivity issues so I’m now having to start training over again. Which I’m sure you can appreciate is a lot harder with a large 2 year old GSD male full of testosterone. (Castration pending) I’m going to try and document my training that I’m getting from @yorkshire_canine_academy and help from a local trainer to me. Hopefully to build awareness and help anyone that may find themselves in this situation. I had incredible help from some amazing professionals during this time. ‘My Dog Has Bitten’ and ‘My Dog Was Seized’. I sure do like it now that Mum's home again, because we go for bike ride adventures. This morning the sun was shinning, there was no wind and it was warm...so when Mum and Dad started gathering up their water bottles, and my water, I knew something was up.🚴♀️🚴🐶 We biked and biked, past the sea which was as calm as and then along tracks, across a swing bridge and along beside busy roads. I saw lots of other people riding bikes...but no other dogs on bikes.🐕🦺🚴🚴♀️ When we got to Rough Island Dad got me out of the basket and we went for a walk. There were so many other dogs...Mum said they were Spaniels, Labs, Retrievers, Collies, Poodles, and even a Malamute. I just knew they were big dogs, small dogs, dogs my size, wet dogs and muddy dogs...but I talked to them all after we did the usual 'sniffing turn around dance'.🐶🦮🐕🦺 I found more of that super large Rabbit Poo that Mum says isn't Rabbit Poo at all and she won't let me touch it, still I had so much fun sniffing my way around the track.🐶🚶♀️➡️🚶♂️➡️ After we rode all the way back we stopped at a cafe and Mum and Dad had coffee and a treat...I was quite happy because we were outside and I found proper Rabbit Poo! I was in heaven until Dad saw what I was doing...oh well, at least I got a treat too.🐇🐶 What a great ride, Mum said we did 29.6km and then walked for ages too...no wonder they are both a little tired now.🤔.
