In honor of Cesarean Awareness Month, I wanted to give a shoutout to all the dads and birthing partners who were there every step of the way for their partners during labor and delivery. They need support too. We put so much emphasis on supporting mothers who underwent c-sections, we often forget that dads and other birth partners can experience trauma from c-sections too. 🪺Dad + Birth Partner Confessions: “I felt scared watching my wife and baby get rushed away into an emergency csection. It all happened so fast with what felt like zero communication. I was afraid I was losing my wife and child.” “I felt helpless and didn’t know whether to stay by my wife’s side while they finished her csection or go into the other room where our newborn was whisked away.” “It was a beautiful and hard experience for me. She is so strong and courageous. I felt like I didn’t know how to support her during this moment other than tell her all would be okay and stay by her side.” It is true that birthing partners don’t have to go through the physical recovery needed post belly birth delivery, but they are just as likely to suffer from many of the postpartum mood disorders as moms. A little update from @alligillilandhair 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 Alli Healing Update! ❤️ If you didn’t already hear…almost 7 weeks ago I slipped on water in my kitchen and tragically broke my femur. 😩I went into emergency surgery that next morning to put me back together again. Since then I have been on the mend. Drs orders have been to put no weight on my leg as it heals! That’s been quite a challenge! We went 2 weeks ago for a check up and the Surgeon said that I am ready to move on to phase 2️⃣ of my healing process! Monday Aug 28th (today!!) I’ll check back into St Francis and begin a bone grafting process. This will have me back in the hospital and away from my kiddos (including sweet baby Sheridan) for another week!!! 😳 We are preparing for this next step and praying for: NO infection, the bone graft to TAKE, and FULL range of motion back in my knee. LOVE YOU ALL! Thank you for all your prayers, meals, encouragement, and support these last 7 weeks🥰🥰🥰! WE ARE BLESSED! Our friends have set up this meal train that so many of you have ALREADY been a part of BUT we have added a few more dates for when I return from the hospital.
