Who’s struggling to get through storytime right now? 👋 There are SO many reasons why it might be the most frustrating time of day (you’re just trying to make memories, build brainpower, do the right thing!), but a few little tweaks could make all the difference. 1️⃣ Get up and move. Most of us were raised to think storytime was quiet time, but for toddlers, that’s not the best way to supercharge learning. Movement really boosts concentration—those neurons are firing and instilling the desire to keep listening—not to mention imagination and comprehension! 2️⃣ Keep it short. Most toddlers can’t sit through paragraphs, no matter how beloved the story is. In fact, 5 minutes is about the limit. Try books with 2-3 sentences per page, and sentences shorter than this one. 3️⃣Time for rhymes. Research tells us children pay attention longer to songs than spoken word. The fact is, they learn best from sing-song patterns, so books that rhyme really help with maintaining attention, memorization, comprehension, and acquiring vocabulary. Use this little trifecta for your next storytime and let us know how it goes!

Today was my great grandad Gordon’s funeral. Leverhone got dressed up really smart- even me! Mummy & me watched a film while the rest of the family went to the church. We met them at the pub where I met loads and loads and loads of new people! I got a bit over excited and hot though and was sick a few times. Mummy ran out of clean clothes for me, so we went back to Nanas for a rest. Once mummy found some new clean clothes for me, we headed on back down and I played games with my cousins and entertained people with my giggles. But then I got tired, so very tired. I’m sure it was past my bed time. So mummy & daddy took me home.
