Le Sud et sa région côtière 🧭 On y est arrivé ! Nous sommes arrivés à Slope Point, le bout de terre le plus au Sud de l’île du Sud de la Nouvelle-Zélande. Mais ici, c’est pour nous une nouvelle étape de franchie, et ce panneau (1) nous indique combien les distances de notre planète sont immenses. Les falaises alentours nous montrent la puissance des vents et vagues qui frappent cette région (2). La nature règne en maitre. Plus à l’Est, nous découvrons la région des Catlins. Des forêts féériques en passant par des plages qui s’alternent avec d’immenses falaises de roches. Au détour d’une exploration de l’une de ces forêts, une cascade retient notre attention, la McLean Fall (3 et 4). D’une beauté très simple, son écoulement bruyant à le don de nous apaiser. On ne fait aucun efforts à rester sur place de longues minutes. La région se termine un peu plus loin, en remontant vers le Nord. Les routes sinueuses qui donnent virages après virages de magnifiques points de vues sur la côte nous emmène jusqu’a notre dernière étape : Nugget Point (5, 6 et 7). Ce lieu mystique où un phare surplombe des formations rocheuses particulières nous laisse sans voix. En ce concentrant bien, on arrive à apercevoir des phoques dans les rochers. 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 Well a two hour drive in the dark whilst getting pelted with rain from the storm, I really didn’t have much hope for sunrise. I waited and waited but the rain carried on coming, so I headed back to the car. Just as I was about to leave, the sun came out! So I sprinted towards the lighthouse and climbed the nearest cliff to get a better perspective of the lighthouse and the rocks behind it! All the fur seals below me were making a racket so I assume they were laughing at me 🦭 It was a stressful sunrise shoot but I think it was worth it for sure, even if I did almost fall off the cliff 🤣
