Es conocida entre otras cosas porque desde la década de los 1970s argumenta que el feminismo radical y el anarquismo son aliados naturales. Escribió el ensayo Anarquismo: La conexión feminista. . Peggy Kornegger ha llamado la atención sobre los fuertes lazos que hay entre el feminismo y el anarquismo, tanto en la teoría como en la práctica. "La perspectiva feminista radical es casi puro anarquismo," escribe ella. "La teoría básica postula que la familia nuclear es la base de todos los sistemas autoritarios. La lección que el niño aprende ... es obedecer la gran voz anónima de la autoridad. Graduarse de la niñez a la edad adulta es convertirse en un autómata total, incapaz de dudar o incluso de pensar con claridad."Las anarco-feministas han notado que "feminizar" la sociedad no puede ser logrado sin la democracia directa ni la decentralización. Esto se debe a que los valores y tradiciones patriarcal-autoritarios que desean derrocar están encarnados y son reproducidos en las jerarquías. Así pues el feminismo supone decentralización, que a su vez supone democracia directa. Muchas feministas así lo han reconocido, según se refleja en sus experimentos con formas colectivas de organizaciones feministas que eliminan la estructura jerárquica y las formas competitivas de tomar decisiones.El anarco-feminismo trata de mantener al feminismo fuera de la influencia de y la dominación por ideologías autoritarias tanto de la derecha como de la izquierda.
