I appreciate the careful thought and care that goes into curating the shelves of collection, the special displays, the hidden gems waiting to be discovered. I especially appreciate a perfume shop where the associates are welcoming and helpful, but also give you the space and time to admire the vessels and test their contents on your own. @hb_roma is one of those perfect perfume shops. I often have an idea of what I want to sample or buy when I travel, but at HB Roma, this perfume found me. A 2009 creation by Bertrand Duchafour that I’d never seen or heard of before. Its powdery vanillic floralcy seemed to belong on my skin, right then, in that moment. I wanted to tell you a quick story about one of my favorite people. My friend, Earl. When he joined the Artisan Perfumery Mastermind his life drastically changed. He originally joined at the start of lockdown in 2020 when his business was closed. He originally joined to learn more about the fragrances he was selling and didn’t even dream he could actually make and sell his own creations. He laid the foundation of perfume creation and put everything into practice immediately. It only got better for him from there and now he is doing pop ups, bespoke fragrances and even considering a studio space to invite private clients. You might call it an “avalanche of abundance”. That abundance comes from having two things: A clear path and... Growing confidence in what you’re doing... The better you get at something, the more confident you become, and the more passionate you get about it, BUT… You need a mentor.
