#SOTN - Rose to Nowhere by For the Scent of It I love it when a fragrance sweeps in and totally takes me by surprise, and that is precisely what happened with Rose to Nowhere. The scent is described by the house founder/perfumer, Michael Schrammel, as a lone rose blooming in an arid desert, and I must say he perfectly executed that vision. Before I go any further, I am going to go ahead and say that this ain't your grandma's rose. In fact, this is much more a leather fragrance. The fruits (raspberry and orange) open it up and provide wisps of sweetness, while papyrus provides its signature dry and grassy introduction to the rose and leather. The rose, while certainly a crucial component to this piece, is not necessarily the star of the show. Rather, it serves as a frame for the leather. They work in tandem, playing off of one another's facets in the most beautiful way. The saffron and leather accord in this formulation place it firmly between suede and brown leather. The rose softens the rough edges of the leather and enhances it. Meanwhile, the leather's deep tones prevent the rose from ever becoming too overtly floral. If people want to know what a masculine rose smells like, this is it. This is a cowboy's rose. This is John Wayne with a crimson rose boutonniere on his lapel. This very well may be the best thing Michael has created so far (though Blacker Sails and Blackwood Sun are oh so close behind). This is a truly stunning composition and a testament to Michael's work as a self-taught perfumer. It is so exciting to see him grow and create these wonderful fragrances, each more refined than the last. Well done, my friend. I sprayed it on my wrist and dress at around 5:30pm and I can still get the smell from my hand even after getting fresh. The Notes doesn’t trigger migraine at all. The black pepper Isn't heavy at all not even the rose. Its woody, fresh, aromatic, green at the same time and I guess it's for cassis and ebony. After dry down it gives a fresh sweet kind of fragrance which is not too loud. Overall I loved it. Fragrance diary: this post is dedicated to the lovely girl who over sprayed it last night at the Boston Ballet for the performance of Carmen. I kept getting whiffs throughout the whole performance. I appreciated it very much. My best friend did not so much and kept complaining about it (all night). I have to agree that 540 has been overdone in the past few years but as you can see it, I still have mine. The perfume did not bother me but her much older boyfriend trying to get attention and make moves on me during the performance was a turn off. He even tried to sing in French to get my attention. Little did he know that I know the soundtrack very well and his French was not that impressive. Much love to you fellow sister! At the heart : comes aromatic,spicy and sweet accord And at the base : we got powdery ,woody notes 🎶. To my surprise this is very summer friendly like weather here in my country is like hideously humid. And this is giving a cooling sensation throughout the wearing on me ! I do not like leather in perfumery but just like og one ☝️ the leather note is not at all animalic but play a beautiful symphony to enjoy the experience of wearing. •It’s like those fragrances that are quiet ,confident & expensive smelling . Not obnoxious at all but people around you including yourself really gonna appreciate edgy , sensual,airy beauty scent cloud it creates ! I legit can understand why @zimayaperfumes named it black symphony . •performance , silage and longevity like better than the og which last like 1 hour max but costs 260$ 🥴. Considering it’s a new bottle, ( i must let it sit to macerate as we all know middle estern perfume projects and performs much better after that ) but I have very little patient 😬. The bottle looks shamelessly similar 👀 . So I give the aesthetic point as well . But mine came in a broken package 📦! Jakiś czas temu, wąchając swoje próbki, niespodziewanie zapałałam sympatią (bo nie miłością) do Libre. Rozważałam zakup odpowiednika z Zary albo arabskiego klona Belle Rouge. Ale natrafiłam na olx na świetną ofertę i mam 20 ml prawdziwego Libre. Ta ilość spokojnie mi wystarczy i przy okazji mogę cieszyć oczy tym pięknym flakonem (a to dla mnie też ważne). Zdarza się wam kupować flakony z drugiej ręki, korzystając z platform typu allegro czy olx? Jak wyglądają wasze doświadczenia z takimi zakupami? Sama długo się wzbraniałem, ale jak już poszło to poszło na całego 😉 Naprawdę nie żałuję. Ani razu nie trafiłam na podróbkę czy nieuczciwego sprzedawcę. Wątpliwości mam tylko co do jednego zapachu, mam podejrzenia że jest zepsuty. Z drugiej strony kupiłam go w tak niskiej cenie, że nawet dla flakonu do zdjęć było warto. Shay & Blue London has been on my list to try for a long time now… Every so often I fill up my cart with every fragrance they make and then come to my senses and delete my whole cart!🤣 So I decided to get samples of every fragrance that they have made just to see what the hype was about! The scents are so unique and really stand out! They smell heavenly and I love the bottle design! The biggest issue… well the only issue that I had with this brand was the longevity of their fragrances… For me, most of them I only got about 2-3hrs MAX of wear time out of them! This disappointed me so much because a scent so addicting should last longer! Had the longevity been longer, I would have owned the entire collection! Has anyone tried Shay & Blue London and had success with their longevity? Let me know! 💕

I’ll spare you the history of Iris Gris and L’Iris de Fath and jump straight into how it smells. The fragrance opens with a peachy pear aldehydic start, attributed to delta-undecalcatones. These notes can also be found as part of many gardenia-tuberose accords or as a facet of lilac accords. The fruity pear peach is subtle and well-recognizable without being too yogurt-like. The scent then transitions into a vintage yet floral powder, different from the dry, makeup-like powder often associated with modern iris fragrances, such as L’Papier by Diptyque. The Ylang Ylang adds a slightly bready-yeasty quality to the fragrance. There’s a hint of violet sweetness, but it’s distinctly different from fragrances like Splendiris or Misia. Unlike L’Atessa or Niral, Iris Gris doesn’t have dry, screechy woods, making it a much softer and less dry iris fragrance. While subtly sweet, it is not at all gourmand like Belle Ame or Iris Shot. The composition includes a significant amount of eugenol, reminiscent of Heaven Can Wait at times, resulting in a very unique composition. Regarding the EDP version, according to reviews, it is quite different from the extrait.
