Hiyaaaa Instafolks! The last 2 remaining improv videos from 26-03-2024 are quite short and uncomplicated, and this evening's constitutes just another bit of Schlock Baroque slash pseudo-Classical flailing. As mentioned elsewhere, I was dead tired when I made these videos and unconvinced that I was playing anything other than crap, at the time. I don't know if you can tell, but I get bored or fall into despair towards the end of each one (also in Improv #9, if I recall correctly) where I almost stop but then round it off instead, just in case it MIGHT be usable content and I'm just a sour bastard, unable to objectively assess if what I'm playing is worth listening to. I'm still happy to be positively surprised. Just on a quick side note: I discovered the joy of fiddling with AI music generation on Saturday night after one of my DJ friends in Ibiza posted dozens of tracks that he'd pumped out in just a couple of days. Damn! It's as much fun as you can have without getting all hot and sweaty with your partner. I'm sold! I'm almost inspired to make an AI Bozo profile. Let's see... Remportant un succès retentissant, de nombreux arrangements virent le jour, mais surtout, le compositeur norvégien adapta et réorchestra huit pièces de l’œuvre originale, qu’il répartit en deux suites pour orchestre de quatre pièces chacune, la première en 1888, et la seconde en 1891. Concluant sa première suite, "Dans l’antre du roi de la montagne" correspond au moment où le peu sympathique, hâbleur et égoïste Peer Gynt rejoint le monde des trolls, et se retrouve conduit devant le roi de la montagne. Les trolls, personnages fantastiques des contes scandinaves, harcèlent et menacent Peer parce qu’il a séduit l’une des filles du roi. Se sentant en danger de mort, il décide alors de s’enfuir. Cette fuite est ici génialement mise en musique par GRIEG au travers d’un thème unique qui sera répété de nombreuses fois à l’identique, mais où vont varier l’orchestration, de plus en plus riche, le registre, de plus en plus aigu, l’accompagnement du thème, sujet à de multiples #variations rythmiques, la dynamique sonore, de plus en plus forte, et le #tempo , de plus en plus rapide, pour finir dans un mouvement bruyamment effréné. Dans un cadre pédagogique, cette pièce se destine à des élèves de niveau intermédiaire (2e cycle). La partie de piano 1 comporte quelques difficultés techniques supplémentaires à celle de piano 2. Route 1, Acuff Studio is a real treasure. Built by Alan Crossland and Doug, it was the perfect environment for us to channel our muse for this Texas inspired project. I got to spend time digging in deep into all the feels, singing with two of my favorite Lubbock ladies, Ashleigh and her Mama Joni and enjoyed some fresh made salsa in the process. Alan and his wife are the nicest folks and it’s been a minute since I stepped in front of a studio mic. Thankfully, I fell right back in the saddle! These songs are really special- part history lesson and part journey to the center of our hearts. Being women in environments where you aren’t always the most appreciated is something else y’all. Whether that’s the music business, a ranch in the panhandle or coaching a team… us Southern ladies always know who really runs the show. This time though, we’re not here as the supporting act. We are “The Talent”. Sure, it’s a cheeky nod to being billed lower on the marquee but there has never been a more relevant time for women to hold their own space in this world. I am over the moon to acknowledge that Ashleigh and I have two of the most solid, supportive husbands we could have ever imagined and there’s paradise to be found.
