Le Prunus 'Okame' est un cerisier à fleurs du Japon particulièrement florifère. Cet ancien hybride horticole issu du croisement de deux espèces botaniques possède la force des plantes peu travaillées et concentre l'extraordinaire floraison de ses deux parents. Buissonnant et touffu lorsqu'il est jeune, il forme à terme un petit arbre très ornemental qui annonce en beauté le retour du printemps. Au début du printemps éclosent tour à tour une multitude de fleurs en clochettes d'un rose carminé vif à étamines jaunes, rassemblées en généreux bouquets pendants. Son feuillage, naissant après la floraison, prend de belles couleurs en automne, et l'hiver dévoile son écorce lustrée, d'un riche coloris bordeaux. A terme, il culminera à 4 m de hauteur pour 3 m d'envergure. Vous pouvez le planter en massif ou en isolé, en haie et également en alignement. 'Okame', peu exigeant, se contente d'un sol ordinaire pour peu qu'il soit suffisamment profond, tolère la chaleur et la présence de calcaire dans le sol. A pale but beautiful Prunus 'Okame' This is a hybrid which originated with the famed Collingwood Ingram some time before 1942. The tree was given an RHS Award of Garden Merit way back in 1952. It must have been quite a thing to have received an AGM so quickly. But then, looking at its amazing flowers, it's easy to see why. Die Zierkische "Okame" läutet hier den Frühling ein 🔔 Erst letztes Jahr gepflanzt beschenkt sie mich schon mit super vielen Blüten. Wenn sie erst mal größer als 50 cm ist wird das bestimmt mal richtig imposant 😁 Aber auch klein bezaubert sie mich schon, vor allem wenn man die Blüten von ganz nah betrachtet. Die warmen Tage haben in mir auf jeden Fall die Garten-Wut geweckt. Ich mache gerade überall "Klar-Schiff" - heute war die Terrasse dran. Wie das so ist, wurde es erstmal schlimmer als besser, aber jetzt kann man schon wieder ganz gemütlich draußen sitzen. The ones at the reservoir are also in bloom as well (and those are definitely Okame cherries) but these are darker in color and the flower arrangements are different then those at the reservoir. The ones on 125th are tightly packed in cute bunches and the branches are closer together whereas the ones on the reservoir are more spread out and the flowers are not in those cute little bunches. 🤔 'Okame' parents are Prunus incisa (female) and P. campanulata (male).
