Today’s revelation: 🌟 Don’t Just Jump on the Bandwagon 🌟 I was with a client this morning and we were trying to work out why her sales pages weren’t converting the way she’d hoped. The reason? She was completely and inadvertently channelling her competitor. Not copying her competitor, but accidentally trying to be like her. She saw what worked for her, what strategies she was adopting, what language she was using, and taking the principle that it would surely work for her too. Makes sense, right? Nope. Sure, there can be merit in using tried and tested methods in business BUT if ALL you are doing is looking around you to see what everyone else is doing - is replicating that really going to gain traction for you? Is this a trend? Is this just their way of doing things? Is this the way that works for them because they are being themselves and talking authentically to their own clients?? Don’t forget that there is space for everyone in business, and there are people out there who are ready to be guided by YOU - specifically YOU. Not the ‘you’ using someone else’s style and language; the ‘you’ that knows your stuff. The ‘you’ that has got this far. The ‘you’ that has a business, and understands where your worth lies in it. Craft your messaging around YOUR strengths. Your own personality, your own expertise and authenticity will bring your own confidence. So go and find your people. My mom and I tried a new studio recently. She told them she’s from out of town, but they still followed up multiple times a day for weeks. Texting, calling, emailing- three different phone numbers called her in the same day until she threatened to block their number. She now swears she’ll never take class at this particular chain again. Interestingly, I had the entirely opposite experience and couldn’t get ahold of anyone to help me 😂 This isn’t unusual. Your client flow is SO important. It should be repeatable, consistent, and -most importantly- provide value for the client, not just for the studio. If your client flow is focused on checking the follow up box (because I do want you to do that😉) you’re missing the whole point. Your client flow should be a fool-proof, pre-designed process to take a client from inquiry to purchase. If it doesn’t, we should talk.
