🎭Happy Mardi Gras Day! 📿 Did you know every year our CEO, Elizabeth Richards, rides in the Iris parade in New Orleans? The Krewe of Iris is the oldest female krewe in New Orleans. 🚺 It rolls the last Saturday, or SatHERday, of the carnival season down St. Charles Avenue. It holds a traditional ball as well as parade. Beginning in 1917, Iris helped pave the way for women’s participation in carnival, and this year it was the largest parade of Mardi Gras with 3,600 riders on 37 floats. Their signature throw is sunglasses. 👓 The theme for the 2024 season was “Iris Travels with World” with floats representing countries and cities from all over the globe. Richards rode on the “Chicago” float decked in a costume inspired by the Chicago flag.
