Risdon Iron & Locomotive Company operated at Pier 70 from 1900 until 1911. Pictured here is Building 21, constructed by Risdon around 1900. In 1901, the San Francisco Call wrote, "Risdon, being a pioneer in [the manufacturing of mining machinery], has grown up with it, expanding as it developed and contributing its full quota of original inventions, improved forms and labor-savings, which have made California's methods a model of mining ... the world over." 📸Credit: @sfmaritimenps And so, the pioneering and creativity at #Pier70SF continues.
