🇬🇧 MANCHESTER’s CHINATOWN - very quiet early morning….. Chinatowns often originate from the influx of Chinese immigrants seeking economic opportunities or fleeing political and social upheaval in China. In the mid-1800s, many Chinese immigrated to places like the United States, drawn by the promise of gold and other work opportunities. However, they often faced discrimination and restrictive legislation that drove them to seek refuge in ethnic enclaves like Chinatowns. These Chinatowns provided a sense of community, security, and solidarity for the Chinese immigrants, allowing them to maintain their cultural traditions and support each other. Benevolent associations and family/district organizations played a key role in meeting the basic needs of the Chinatown community and representing their interests. In some cases, like after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, Chinatowns were intentionally rebuilt and designed to have a more “Oriental” aesthetic to attract tourists, even though this did not reflect the authentic culture. This shows how Chinatowns can also be shaped by external forces and commercial interests beyond just the immigrant community itself. sometimes you need to experience what you are working on. S E L F - D I S C I P L I NE another big word for me; self-discipline is the ability to keep one’s self under control, oh man! That is so hard for someone, but thank God because I have seen this characteristic of the fruit of the Spirit slowly grow a little bit. something that has taught me about my mental health is to fight my battle in the Spirit and try every day to be more like Jesus, not by my strength in His; yes it’s hard, sometimes I fail sometimes I have good victories and some days are just meh. the most amazing thing I enjoyed in this wave is that every morning after reading for 15 minutes my Bible in a panoramic way. We got a call Tuesday morning after the Black Hills received over an inch of rain and the customer had water dripping in behind their electrical panel. This caused their power to fail on two of their breakers and the customer had been up since midnight trying to remedy the situation. Full Curl Roofing project manager Aaron went over to the home and crawled in the attic and found a steady drip, which he then traced to some failed roof sealant allowing water to wick into the roof, under the shingles, until it found a hole and dripped on to the breaker panel. After sealing the hole and touching up a couple of other spots, this customer was on his way to getting the water damage taken care of. Choose Your Own Adventure Books were a popular trend in the 80’s. Readers were given the opportunity to make choices and ultimately choose the characters actions and the plot’s outcome. Over 184 of these books made it to print and thousands of fictional adventures were enjoyed. It is now 2024 and I have chosen my very own real life adventure. I’m about to embark on a journey, one that includes challenges I have never faced, endurance that will push me to my limits, and will result in a climb equivalent to 29029 ft, 48km in 36 hours. I will be one of 250 athletes worldwide competing in 29029 Everesting in Salt Lake City Utah in August 2024. This race is new to the world of Ultra Endurance and is now considered one of ten unmissable events to do this year by National Geographic. My decision to participate in this incredible experience was made when it became more and more clear that I needed a new focus. One that gave me a sense of purpose and achievement. One that would contribute to both my physical and mental well-being. While my personal mental health journey has included both struggle and setback, it has also taught me the power and importance of support and shared experiences. I would like this race to not only be about my personal goals, but also about raising awareness surrounding positive mental health. It takes a village to make good things happen, and my intention is to seek support from local businesses and to create a GO FUND ME campaign. I not only want to complete this race, I want to conquer it. I want to show my daughters and women of all ages what grit and perseverance look like. I want to prove to myself that I can do hard things. The movie called “Unsung Hero” have just have gotten done watching this movie. Man so beautiful here and strong family united there. It’s was soo touching and so emotional and instantly and inspirational for my journey adventure of my faith move here to. In the middle of it. I have gone through the ups and downs for things not as much that small bone family have gone through too. As I look back in July 2023 having a family who sorta understandings what God is doing in my life. There are so much protection on my dad and grandparents for this. But there was nothing better to have my dad drop me off at the airport for the moving into with my mom here. It’s been almost 10 months here. As I am having been slowing down and being still with god to resting brain of mine and it’s been such a beautiful less stressful time now and more settled now. Boy this is a powerfully beautiful one for me because I was in this move here and about to go and start the process of the move and getting settled. I seen this photo of this early today and thinking about the family support on this. But they are trying to believe and understand this whole God thing here. But this was god ordeal with this photo to because I never have my parents in the same place especially in the car for the longest time here to. But this I never did posted this and I am looking at this beautiful picture of my dad and my mom too. That movie have really brought such a emotional impact for the middle of my faith moves and still in the thick of my transition of my life of what god is really doing here but it’s been so life bringing to me here. I am moving closer and deeper into the relationship with god and seen god moved in my life and seen the lord provided a church around me and the embraced me and praying for me and giving life giving words for supporting me in the way which I needed to much with.
