Wow, I have finally landed back to Earth after a very special weekend! Having @SnatamKaurKhalsa playing for us was such a strong experience. Her music has a special place in both mine and my partner @CarolineSkjelbred’s hearts. It was also a true honour to connect with her and her band members @RamDassMusic, @SukhmaniMusic and @GreccoBuratto on a more personal level as well over the days they were in town. We kicked off the Heartflow Tour with an unforgettable evening in Madrid! We played in a venue that was a converted train station, and I think I had a first class ticket on the Heartflow Express!!! I have watched myself with the creation of this new album called Heartflow, and have recognized that I am in a majorly important time in my life, a deep shift from head to heart. I have had a vast array of experiences, from the peace giving blessings of the wind blowing through the maple tree that I sat under when I composed the words for Runnin’ from This, the assurance and knowing of practicing the tune for Naraayan-Peace for months and only settling on the tune when it consistently opened my heart day after day, to the joy of composing the English section for Ekongkaar- Heartflow, literally during a live take with my band with the absolute presence of spirit guiding me like a conductor. I feel as though I have been a channel. And while I have felt this way before, there’s something different about it this time around. For this album I am doing it all on my own terms, trusting my own heart. The Divine is coming through me; not the way someone else prescribed, or with others to tell me I’m doing it right, but in a way that my heart knows and feels. Through the isolation I experienced as my community fell apart around the discovery of my former spiritual teacher’s fall from grace, I had to find the channel within, not just for this album, but for my very life and spirit, and I did. This album, every single song/mantra, every single creative endeavor whether it be music, the photo shoot for the cover, or even writing this little note to you, has been a part of finding my way to my own Heartflow space, and trusting it. Every track in its own authentic way, is a complete victory from my heart’s perspective. I am so excited for you to hear this new music! Systematic, scientific and simple, it is also known as the science of angles, because the different poses and movements often put pressure on specific organs and glands. Kundalini shakti is primordial cosmic energy, known as the Serpent Power. We tried to recreate this photo captured of all of us, way back in around 1985. This is us, all the siblings, my beautiful mom, and cousin Kenny along with our father Sat Santokh. The togetherness and joy we have been blessed to experience as a family, is one of the greatest gifts from our father. Thank you all for your prayers, as he passed away on February 21, 2024. We had an incredible memorial service, challenging and full of tears at times, but nevertheless, moments of exaltation, joy and gratitude, no doubt the result of a life fully lived in dedication to spiritual practice/dharma, family, love, walks in nature, always having a backpack with just the right supplies, dancing, singing, serving, and loving and caring for us all and so many. Thank you Pitaji! My heart is full knowing your beautiful spirit and being able to have this beautiful family to call my own. #snatamkaur
