Today I want to talk about something important - FALLING OFF THE BANDWAGON (don’t even ask me how many times I’ve heard this phrase). Everyone has off days or weeks. We have that bad meal or a week of binge eating or just don’t train cause we’re tired or unwell or bored. That’s when this phrase gets used - ‘Soh I’ve fallen off the bandwagon’. Honestly, what is this bandwagon everyone is on? And why is it so easy to fall off? Why is everyone so hard on themselves if they have that one off day in the gym or if they eat that one bad meal? Does that mean they’re going to suddenly become unfit or fat? Does it mean they can never jump back on? Fact of the matter is - it’s ok to let yourself go once in a while. It’s ok to not workout for a week or even 2 if your body needs a break or you’re on holiday or unwell or injured - you’re not going to undo all the hard work you’ve put in. In fact, you’ll come back harder and with greater intensity - when you do. The point though is to get back to routine when you can and stop worrying. You ONLY ‘fall off the wagon’ when you stop COMPLETELY. When you quit. Sometimes we use this as an excuse to quit and stop trying. Fitness is suppose to be fun. It’s not a competition. Yes, you have goals and you want to achieve them but it’s important to understand - you’re in it for life - not for 30 or 60 days. And when you’re in it for life you NEVER fall off the wagon. I’ve had a number of injuries in life - some that have required surgery. I didn’t workout or play sport for weeks or months after a few of the serious ones. Yes - I did get weak and I did put on a few extra kilos but it really wasn’t something I had any control over. However, not only did I get back once I was given the green signal by the doctors - I started working out harder than ever post recovery and I also got back on the field and started playing my favourite sport. So - with fitness or sport - you’re in it for life and if you are, you will NEVER ‘fall off the bandwagon’. Don’t be hard on yourself. #sohfit #bethebestyou

It’s not who you are that holds you back. It’s who you think you are not that does. We spend too much time worrying about doing things perfectly or not doing them at all. Or, what will this person think of what we are doing? Sometimes we need to stop giving ourselves so much importance, live a lil, workout hard and not worry about being perfect. #sohfit #bethebestyou #sohfithq

Things work out - maybe not the way you want them to - or the way you imagined - but they work out. The first time the IPL happened I was 25 years old and I wanted to wear this jersey (as a player). I knew I wouldn’t make it cause my legal career was under way and playing cricket was a distant dream. 2024 and the second season with the Mumbai Indians as part of the S&C team. Now I get to coach some of the finest cricketers (these two rockstars included) around and it feels great. You just need to keep believing and keep dreaming - what else is there in life? Focus on putting in the work - the result is never really in your control. #sohfit #bethebestyou

I have learnt a lot of lessons in my life but the one thing that has stuck and has become so damn clear is that success isn’t really about genetics, talent or any of the other stuff they make you believe. Success is about how well you handle rejection and setbacks. It’s about the willingness to keep going when most people would have given up. Life throws plenty of setbacks and rejections your way. You will get injured (and don’t I know that), you’ll get really busy, you’ll train super hard for a competition or event and then either underperform or not perform at all, your business idea may not take off the way you expect it to. This is all part of life - I’ve faced a lot of setbacks or rejections in my life. The only thing I tell myself at that point is that I can’t let this define who I am or what I do. Coming back from another longish injury lay off and back to it finally. I’ve missed RFT a lot - can’t really do much crawling with broken toes but now it’s back to action and it felt good. So all you need to do, is tell yourself “it happens and it’ll get better” OR in classic Arnold style “I’ll be back”. #sohfit #bethebestyou #rftindia #sohfithq

Hi everyone Sorry for the very long post... I just want to Thank @sohfitofficial for their amazing support by the awesome Coaches who are so patient n test ours at times🤪🥵, ..Thanks for the motivation and push to make me better in my fitness journey during my good and even more on my bad days. the Community taking care of each other n the Technical Staff for the easy App n solving all the tech issues n making it better for us to use... I started Sohfit a bit over 1 year and I wish I knew about them earlier but better Late than Never...ever since ...never regretted joining them. I used to Hate going to the gym and do runs😅, I'm a Dancer and Choreographer and have always done just that. I found Sohfit through my Dance journey with Shiamak Dance Co where, Sohrab had a talk session with us on the importance of fitness for us Dancers. N like most women, had the thought that, if I did weights training , I would bulk up and look manly etc, but it's all a myth which was cleared by Coach Sohrab and,abs n diet etc was never my agenda. After listening to Coach Sohrab and his ways of training n values.I was floored. I started my Sohfit journey with a 2wk RFT program (which according to me is the toughest) in Sep 2022, saying to myself ,if I survive this,then I'll decide if I want to go on and after that ...there was no looking back. I thereafter did the all their programs except 21days. The last program I did in 2023 was the 8wks Build×Strength and RFT both at the same time....Was thinking to myself, what I got myself into n thot would give up after day 1 esp RFT...hahha...but to my pleasant surprise, I managed to complete both programs and saw huge improvement in myself and it would never have been possible if it wasn't for the constant push from my Coaches n the Community...n Build×strength is by far my most fav Workout. N my eating n drinking habits have become much cleaner too.I'm improving step by step, sec by sec😃 Sohfit has now become my way of life along with Dance and I couldn't be more Thankful and Happier. A big shoutout to our SOHFIT RUN CREW! 📣📣🏃🏻🏃🏻‍♀ As we close the SOHFIT Run Series, we ought to say it’s been an absolute pleasure these last 12 weeks. They have been an outstanding addition to our Sohfit fam, some new faces, some old, some showing up and some not so regular, yet the spirit and enthusiasm and the PRs have been amazing. We wanted to call out these guys for showing up and putting in the work, week after week. While the world was Decembering last month, some of these champs were clocking in their top mileage, gearing for the Tata Mumbai Marathon. We wish you guys the very best for it! The hard part was to put yourself out there and give it a shot and you did that. Pat yourself on the back for it. As a coach, you want to inspire people to train and stay consistent; to look beyond just aesthetics and the way they appear; to enjoy training for what it is and have a blast. Seldom do you meet people who inspire you as a coach itself. Zain has taught me so much. She’s taught me patience, how to enjoy every moment and always strive to be better. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in 2023 - it is this. Over the years I’ve watched a lot of people train. I’m not much of a talker and that’s helped me. Observing people, you see their constant need for variety in everything they do. And it’s not only students, we coaches are equally guilty of this. Sometimes that’s a good thing, but when it comes down to exercise (or anything in life for that matter) your basics have to be solid, whether you like it or not. Doing a power clean or a KB flow piece or a handstand walk is great and it may look even better on social media but what good is it if you can’t do a basic deadlift or know how to swing the KB or even shoulder press half your body weight in the first place (all of which are fundamental for the above so-called cool movements). As coaches, we at SOHFIT want people to fall in love with the basics and see them get better with those in the coming year. That’s what we’ll focus on with our programs and our training. Cause we honestly believe that consistently working on yourself is the key to getting fitter and variation is an exception to the rule not the rule itself.
