It was such a beautiful day hosting an up-cycled pottery painting workshop for Scientific Group (AS&K, Corpus & Remedica). It was their team summer away day & we painted pottery outside in the barns of @knebworth_house The location of Knebworth House & Barns was so stunning. I seem to say when I'm painting "It's getting there", and this one too is getting there. It can take days or even weeks to create an animal portrait such as this in oils. The painting is built up with layers of paint, rough areas to start with, and then each subsequent layer adding more detail. I have still to add some hair highlights which I can do in the next sitting. I don't know why but I don't often paint landscapes, but after painting the bluebells yesterday I had a lot of paint left in my pallet, which was too much to let dry. I also had some colours saved from my previous painting session.
