For the next few days I will be sharing snapshots about this last week of birthday celebrations, a girls trip that was a big bucket list item for me, and a family trip to California. What does this have to do with pillows you say?? I think it’s always neat to get a little glimpse behind the faces of those that make the products so here will be a little glimpse behind myself, the person who makes each Acorn Pillow!😊 The week started with my birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant, Tapas Papas Fritas in Scottsdale. It’s legit Spanish food and I love it not only for the live flamenco dancing and guitar but for the food that takes me back to Spain where I lived for about a year and a half as a missionary for my church. The flavors, the sounds, and the atmosphere of this restaurant brings it all back and it was such a joy this time to bring our daughter for the first time! There was just something about watching her taste paella, gazpacho, and tortilla de potata, my favorites from Spain and sharing a part of my life that really helped shape who I am today. In Palma, there’s an order of nuns who live in a convent, and; make bread, biscuits, pastries etc … as part of their hidden away life as a nun. To purchase these products, you go to the convent, ring the buzzer, the barrel turns and a voice asks for your order, the barrel turns again and the product is there, you leave the money, the barrel turns and if all is finished, the barrel closes until the next customer. Hired a car to explore the island. First destination, a very very very curvy hilly road to the Lighthouse …disastrous decision! Cyclists everywhere and busy busy …nowhere to park so we turn back along with heaps of other cars & drove through the hills to a gorgeous little village to have lunch. I’m getting very good at driving on the opposite side of the road and in challenging situations. 😊
