Nachdem das Unwetter langsam nachließ, klarte der Himmel auf. Am Strand lagen aber unzählige von Seesternen, die von der Strömung an den Strand geworfen waren. Ein kleiner Junge lief am Strand entlang, nahm behutsam Seestern für Seestern in die Hand und warf sie zurück ins Meer. Da kam ein Mann vorbei. Er ging zu dem Jungen und sagte: "Was du da machst, ist vollkommen sinnlos. Siehst du nicht, dass der ganze Strand voll Seesternen ist? Die kannst du nie alle zurück ins Meer werfen! Was du da tust, ändert nicht das Geringste!" Der Junge schaute den Mann einen Moment lang an. Dann ging er zu dem nächsten Seestern, hob ihn behutsam vom Boden auf und warf ihn ins Meer. After 18-months of preparation, I am absolutely delighted and overwhelmed to announce that #marathondessables 2024, that’s a rap - @mdslegendary the toughest footrace on Earth, finished 🏜️✅ -252km / 156miles 🏃🏻 -6 stages / 7 days (timed) ⏱️ -Long stage: 85km 🤪 -Self-sufficient 💪🏼 -Sahara Desert - Morocco, Africa 🇲🇦🌍 “Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” It was one gruelling, grinding, but epic rollercoaster of an adventure in the middle of the 50degree heat of the desert and it really was one transformational, soul-changing experience that I will hold forever 🙏🏼 Above anything, and with grace to the generosity of some incredible Humans, I have raised over £10,500 (so far) in aid of @hope_for_children and @chanceforchildhood – an international charity partnership working towards a world in which every child has the happy, healthy and positive childhood they deserve 🧡💜 Right now it all still feels quite surreal, and it is hard to describe or comprehend the journey I’ve been on in this chapter 💆🏼♂️ at some point, I will dig deeper into this… However, what I can not miss the opportunity to say is thank you the incredible individuals I had the honour or sharing a bivouac with for 10days - @benstocken @mike_bentls @crmepham @alexlense @james_r_uk @the.runningbean @d.h.esquire your brotherhood, the camaraderie fundamentally made my experience. 📌„hope“ Elternsymposium 🏖️ Thema für die Eltern: „Wo kann man mit einem erkrankten Kind, barrierefreien Familienurlaub in Deutschland machen?“ 👣 Thema für die Kinder: „Abenteurer rund um den Birkunger Stausee“ Wie kann ein Samstagvormittag schöner beginnen, als mit einem vielfältigen Frühstück in freundlicher Umgebung mit lieben Menschen an der Seite? 🌞 Ja, die Veranstaltungsreihe „Eltern meets Eltern“ des „hope“ Hospiz- und Palliativzentrum Eichsfeld richtet sich an alle Familien mit einem schwererkrankten Kind. 🌱 Ein Elternsymposium, welches fachliche Themen genauso in den Fokus stellt wie die Gespräche über Bedürfnisse, Sorgen und Ängste der betroffenen Familien. Mögliche Themen können dabei sein: „Barrierefreier Urlaub – welche Möglichkeiten gibt es?“ oder die Frage „Wie kann ich die Zukunft meines Kindes gestalten?“ Welche Ängste und Wünsche sind in mir? An diesen Samstagen laden die Mitarbeiter und viele unermüdliche Ehrenamtliche in das Zentrum nach Birkungen ein. Während die Eltern neben den intensiven Gesprächen zu einem Brunch geladen sind, erleben die Kinder Abenteuer in Wald und Flur bei Spiel und Spaß. 🌲 🌺 „Eltern meets Eltern“ steht somit für intensive Gespräche, Begegnungen mit anderen Familien mit ähnlichen Problemen und Sorgen aber auch für einen positiven Austausch untereinander und für entspannte Samstagvormittagsstunden, die für Eltern und Kinder einen Ausbruch aus dem Alltag bedeuten. 🌼 Das Angebot steht unter der Leitung und Begleitung unseres Ambulanten Kinder- und Jugendhospizdienstes und entstand durch den Wunsch vieler Familien mit einem erkrankten Kind nach einer Möglichkeit der Begegnung und des Austausches. Vergangener Dienstag war ein ganz besonderer Tag im hope - Ambulantes Hospiz-und Palliativzentrum Eichsfeld in Birkungen: Unsere Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Verwaltung in Duderstadt haben uns besucht! ✨ Bisher kannten wir uns zumeist nur vom Telefon, aber die Chemie stimmte sofort! 👍️ 📌 Warum ist es so wichtig, sich persönlich kennenzulernen? 🖇️ Der persönliche Austausch fördert das Vertrauen und die Zusammenarbeit. ⚓️ Man kann sich besser verstehen und die Bedürfnisse des anderen besser einschätzen. 😍 Es macht einfach mehr Spass, miteinander zu arbeiten, wenn man sich persönlich kennt. ✌️ if you’re losing losing your mind whilst tapering too 🤪🤯 9 days to go 💩 So far this week; Rest 5 miles easy- in the wind 🌬️ Gym Mona Fartlek, where I accidentally did more intervals than I supposed to, and temporarily broke my husband after 2 miles 🤦♀️ 🙊 Then today, I headed out for 6 m steady .. in my head I questioned it, thinking it seemed a lot after yesterday’s interval effort. But headed out anyway. Then half a mile in, stopped and checked my @fitness__4u plan as I was thinking the set pace felt harder than it should.. and of course, Friday is rest day. Just like it has been since October 🤦♀️ so I rounded up to a mile, and I’ll do the rest tomorrow on slightly more rested legs 🦵 First week of running without getting rained on 🥳 Also, I now only cough for a minute after running- incase you were 🤔 #lilylondon #tapering #londonmarathon #londonmarathontraining #teamHope
