My kids have taught me more than they’ll ever know. Because of them, I truly know the act of grace, forgiveness and unconditional love. Through parenthood, entrepreneurship & grief, I have rediscovered and reignited the little girl in me who was dimming her light. I learned to love her for who she was then, who she’s been in between, who she is now and who she continues to evolve into. Just a big hearted, flawed, perfectly imperfect being — in all my brokenness, my shortcomings and my mess. Following my bliss, dreams, heart tugs and intuition as often as possible because I know what not following them feels like.. Deeply rooted.. 🏝️ Humans crave receiving love and giving love because it feels good. The affection and emotional intimacy are desirable for most, so romantic love can be thought of as an instinct or drive to fulfill one of our endless human needs. But there’s a difference between love and in love. More times than not, your nervous system will choose a familiar hell over an unfamiliar heaven. Just remember that you have a choice. No matter what. Because while the familiar might feel safe, it can keep us stuck in situations that don't fulfill us or allow expansion. The biggest threat to low vibrational forces seeking power & control, is a high vibration. A low vibration can try and pull you down to its level, but can never fly high to meet you at yours. You ultimately determine your vibrational state. And you are sovereign, nothing else has influence over this, unless you allow it to. This photog doesn’t edit in sunrises, sunshine & sunsets for ✌🏽 reasons.. 1. Wouldn’t know where to start in PS {Photoshop}. Don’t use it at all as I am a LR {Lightroom} kinda girl. 2. Because, I chase the real thing!!! Ask my clients, they’ll tell you and as clichè as it sounds.. the proof is in the pudding. In my case, pictures 🫠 I pray that I never lose sight of the passion and purpose that comes with my love for art, photography and humanity as a whole. This creative outlet I was blessed to bring to life in 2014 has been brewing in every atom, cell and fiber in my being since I was a little girl. First Day Of School 🖤📓 @lightwork_education_ @specializedpediatric It'll happen. On a day that starts like any other, when everything you know feels easy, familiar, predictable.. something will enter your life and change everything. You won't know that it's coming, won't see the unfolding. You’ll just know this is ‘different’ from every experience you've ever had before. All you can do when it happens, is stay. Stay when you want to run. Let the unfolding reveal itself. Even when the voice in your head says this might only be fleeting and it may not be real and this may lead to nowhere at all. Stay, because there’ll be something that blooms within you. A voice that doesn't scream, it whispers. A deep, intangible knowing. Something only you can feel that understands — this.is.right. Some of the best things are going to scare you. Some of the best things are going to shake your foundation to the core.. There are obvious things, right there, impossible to ignore things. The person, opportunity, once-in-a-lifetime chance. And the subtler things. That thought that crosses your mind one day and keeps coming back. An inkling. An idea. That soft whisper. Maybe I should share my art. Maybe I should write the book. Maybe I should move to the mountains. Maybe I should go back to school, quit my job or start this new path that feels right but doesn't fit my perfectly mapped out plans. It’ll happen when you least expect it. It’ll enter your life and unravel the plans you made for yourself along the way and more times than not, brings you back to authenticity, to who you once were, those inner child desires, wants and needs without the conditioning, shaming and societal expectations. Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and do more of that. Because the world needs it. It’s ironic how you feel most alive when your heart skips a few beats.. 🫠
I close my eyes to old ends, and open my heart to new beginnings as I vividly live my childhood dreams 🦋 Not all humans were made to be in an office setting all day to simply work for a steady paycheck, pay bills to survive this hard-knock life and then.. well you know. I for one, am not okay with the system in many ways, I broke the corporate chains and respectfully refuse to be part of a world that conditions anyone to believe there aren’t endless possibilities and ways of making a living and being authentically and genuinely happy while doing so. Despite your age, life resolves, and the way you ‘thought’ you had to live (because people pleasing is a thing) remember to sit with your feelings, listen to your heart, your gut and your inner child voice and do the all that makes you feel alive earth-side.. Tomorrow isn’t promised 🖤 My dear Lisbeth, THANK YOU from the bottom of my big mushy heart for doing what you do for the education + special needs community and giving me the opportunities that you have. Let's get deeper. Let’s unravel.. knowledge is power 🙌🏽 Did you know there’s no biblical scripture that instructs people to wear wedding rings? It is told that the first wedding ring dates back to 3000+ years (around 4000 BC) and recorded evidence that a formal exchange of rings between two people came from ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece. The rings weren't made with metal or engraved gemstones and people held onto a belief that the rings were circular, to signify the unknown. Once a commitment is made, they might never know what the future holds. The circle is also a universal symbol with lots of meanings such as circle of life, birth, survival, death, connection, community, no beginning, no end, the self, the infinite, timelessness, Gods endless love, a common token of love (a very expensive one at times lol) that unites two beings and is a materialistic and romantic mindset from the secular world and perhaps other reasons I am unaware of. A ring is sacred to many, and to others, it may not be due to their experiences, and that's understandable. A ring, signed document, vow, all of it is incredibly and un•freaking•deniably beautiful don’t misunderstand my openness but truth is, none of it determines the quality or durability of a relationship as we are ever changing and evolving humans in an ever changing and evolving universe. Always a student in this life, despite age. To me, it feels at ease to live in this world full of goodness but also judgment & unsolicited opinions, with an open heart, open mind and view things from your perspective, no one else's. Embrace this ONCE in a lifetime experience and live how it best feels to you, let others live as they wish and pleaseee stop worrying about fitting into a social status box. You blink and its over.. there’s no sugar coating that. Life happens FAST! 💨

A different perspective 🩷 When a photographer can’t change a scene, they change their angle, lens and mindframe to capture the best of that moment and scenery. Similarly, when you can’t or are having difficulty changing a situation in your life, you should switch perspective and mindset to get the best out of that situation. If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, are we really living our potential, our purpose, our calling? The art of life is constant change and readjustment to our surroundings. We are forever students living this temporary human experience, until the day comes when we transcend. Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them, that creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Allow things to flow naturally forwarded in the way they are meant to. Even when that looks entirely different than what we originally had ‘planned’. Though devastating at first, Autism isn't the end of the world. On the contrary, it’s the beginning of a whole new one 💙💡🎨 Autism offers a chance for us to glimpse an awe-filled vision of the world that might otherwise pass us by. Something that every single human being should experience.. Somewhat speechless but of course, I have lots to express. Meeting Abby a decade ago when I began my photography journey and being fortunate to document this time in her life, is BEYOND humbling. As has been, watching her bloom and grow into the beauty & brains that she is. Connected and felt like home, with this family since day one. We’ve created seasonal memories & I shot the best ‘70th Tequila Party’ ever! They recently gained an Angel.. the goat and head honcho of their lives. Their grief and pain is something I hold close to my heart because I know the feeling, too well. Back to ABBY! Today she is FIFTEEN! 🧁🎉 We shared three incredible days of shooting as day two came with a downpour but we made it happen. At almost midnight last night, I was gazing at my computer screen, editing some teasers & feeling so appreciative of my journey. Doing what sets your heart and soul on fire is where it’s at. HAPPY QUINCES ABBY! I LOVE YOU DEARLY! Being around you makes me so happy. Your aura, sense of humor, jokes, laughter, silliness.. I can go on and on. Your pictures are and should be, no different. What's a beautiful photo and a bad experience? Disheartening! Even though it is said that misery loves company, it does NOT have to be that way. Ever. Do your research, coordinate an in person meeting or virtual call with your photographer, follow their page, stalk their posts, stories and reels (in all the good ways), comment and like their art, read their captions, feel their words, what are they like? Do you feel some type of way? Do you resonate? All those emotions circle around bringing you to find & connect with the ideal photographer destined for you. When the day arrives, be a wedding, quince, social event or just because session — it'll feel more like a best friend who takes incredible photos rather than a stranger telling you how to and where to look. Under this humble palapa, I rest my sunkissed head on a tiny fuchsia towel, at slightly past the hottest hour of the day. Shades of blue seem to blend seamlessly together, as I squint into the horizon, not sure where the serene sky ends or where the rapturous Aegean Sea begins. The calm island breeze warms my salty face, and the fragrance of the sand underneath my head numbs all my other senses. I gaze into the distance, first to my right, and note--through a mist of some kind--a far off island. To my left, I note the end of this one. I believe I've reached an end of the Earth, and it thrills my soul. My focus shifts to the millions of tan colored sand crystals on my forearms and palms. They've hidden themselves underneath my otherwise clear fingernails, speaking a story I know my hands could never write, nor could the silence hushing my lips ever express. Take me away.. i wanna feel something 🖤 Isn’t everything we do in life a way to be loved a little more? I believe so. Your desires, passions, talents, opportunities, interests and most importantly instincts — are not random. They draw the blueprint of the person you are meant to be, the life you are meant to live. Desire is a roadmap to the version of you who already has what it is you want. Desire is the key. When we don't heed the call of deep desire, the things within us that genuinely compel and interest and consume and inspire us, not fleetingly, but more intensely over time — we are then met with fate's sister signal, discomfort. The universe whispers until it screams, and if we learn to listen to the small voices telling us in any given moment of every given day what we are meant to do next, we end up buried beneath all of the choices we made out of guilt, out of fear, out of a need to conform to what's around us, rather than reorient our lives to reflect what's within us. To honor our desire is also to be willing to do what it takes to make it a real, living thing. When our desire for something is strong enough, we become more and more willing to endure the discomfort often required to create it and to sustain it 💭
