During the pandemic lock-downs the musical people I know were doing live stream parties. They asked if I'd like to add a visual element and of course I said Yes! At first I was drawing with pencils and markers but I wanted to make the art more fun to watch so, like a polaroid, I imagined images that would be slowly revealed. I created a bright and colourful textured background and penciled in a drawing. The drawing wasn't visible on the camera, and as the music played I carefully filled in the black. Since they looked like paper cut outs I called them "Cut-Out Paintings", and started making more. When the "Cut-Out" painting was done I had small watercolours prepped so I apinted these too, and filled in time. I sold these for $100 each to make money since I couldn't work/tattoo during the lockdowns.👍And you've gotta love my camera set-ups - duct tape, boxes, string!
