A very special dinner from very VERY special seats @canoerestaurant ✨ It's like watching an episode of The Bear being played out live in front of you (except the level of precision and skill in the Canoe kitchen is beyond any TV show - it's the real deal 🤩). Rather than selecting a couple of mains, we ordered shareable apps and a pizza to sample their menu more broadly. The first dish is the Polipo (grilled octopus). It came with confit potatoes, squid ink romesco, and spicy salsa verde. The octopus was remarkably tender and I loved dipping it in the spicy sauce. The Salmon Carpaccio was beautifully presented. There's a natural brininess combined with buttery flavours that make this dish truly enjoyable. As for the Polpette di Carne (lamb meatballs), I found it quite hearty. The meatballs were dense and paired well with the pomodoro and creamy ricotta. I picked the Diavola pizza. The toppings include spicy sun dried tomato pesto, smoked provolone, calabrese salami, and roasted peppers. It's spicy and savoury. The crust is thin, airy, and crispy. I really devoured this pie.
Who needs carbone when you have the rigatoni vodka from @ilpostinorestaurant 🤤🤤 - save your money and go here instead!! I visited carbone in the summer and thought it so overrated and expensive 😭😭 but this place will not disappoint! I was literally dipping the bread in the vodka rose sauce at the end 😂 . We ordered: - caesar salad (also pretty good!) - calamari - rigatoni vodka 😍 - seafood linguine . $45 +purchase of a beverage, bottomless small bites @ Dasha. The interior of the restaurant, the decor, atmosphere were nice. Staff was attentive and friendly. It's a shame the food was not there 👎. Everything seemed like it was bought frozen. Filling in the spring rolls were like mush. The noodles were so salty and overcooked. The dumpling flavour was not good and outer wrapper was overcooked. The sweet and sour chicken was neither sweet nor sour despite how much sauce was on it. Fried rice was mediocre and definitely not cooked on a wok. The wasabi shrimp was nothing special but it was ok, better than everything else. Only thing that was good and can be recommended is the pork belly bao! Drinks were good as well! It's not common to come across a restaurant with so many bad dishes tho. But this place has so much potential! Really need to improve the food. . .
