Nach 5 Tagen auf Utila, freuen wir uns richtig darauf, wieder in unseren Carlos einzuziehen. Wir konnten entspannen, tauchen, schnorcheln und gut Essen gehen. Aber 5 Tage, sind uns auf einer so kleinen Insel, definitiv genug. Unser Hotel war nicht so toll. Wir haben für einen deutlich niedrigeren Preise schon deutlich besser gewohnt. Zumindest die Lage war top und mit Hund war es dort auch wirklich entspannt. In my humble opinion, there is no correct answer to the way in which we live our lives. What is right for one, may be completely wrong for another. If we focus less on comparing ourselves, and focus more on becoming what/who we want to be, then there is a good chance we'll inevitably find that light in the darkness. That glaring ray of metaphorical sunshine comprised of ambition, motivation, and passion for our desired way of life. Dwelling on what went wrong in the past, mistakes we've made, or what we currently do not possess - physically, spiritually, figuratively - will not serve us any justice. Life's change is constant. The universe is as it is at any given moment, and it works in mysterious ways. To come to terms with the fluidity and the duality of life - its ups and downs, its joy and heartache, it's loss and gain - that to me is true peace. Bad things happen all the time, but so do extraordinarily amazing things! By choosing which lens you use to view the universe, you choose your life!

Take it from someone trying to build up their business, travel the world, work in the conservation field, work in the health field, share value via social media, make progress on personal goals, spend time on my passions, figure out how to be an adult, feed myself, and oh yeah, become financially stable 😰😅 Just a smidge overwhelming. When you say it out loud, it’s a lot. But we don’t often give ourselves credit for everything we are doing - especially when it feels like we are doing nothing. So what can ya do? Step 1: stop measuring everything by productivity my friend. Life is so much more than work, and you are so much more than your “accomplishments” 2. Give yourself some TIME OFF Time off from everything. People, work, tasks, health food, working out, your house, even your passions. When you come back to it, you’ll be that much more grateful. 3. You have to let go to receive When we cling to things, routines, habits, it can stem from a fear of loss. Operating out of fear doesn’t really serve anyone. Imagine trying to catch 10 things with the same two hands.. you’d probably drop more things that you catch attempting to hold everything at once. Things come, things go. The Caribbean. Utila is one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, in the Caribbean, known for its coral reefs and many dive sites. It’s considered one of the world’s cheapest places for learning diving. You may find here the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center which studies this fish species found in the surrounding waters, and the Iguana Research and Breeding Station, dedicated to preserving the endangered spiny-tailed Utila iguana.

This photo perfectly shows the situation that most of us are experiencing right now 😌 • We’re sort of forced to slow down, whether we want it or not and whether we enjoy it or not. ☝🏻 And I do believe that social isolation can also be a chance to collectively regain our breath. It feels good to reset everything and to focus on and become aware of the things that are most important to us in life 🙌🏻 • Living in ourselves and resting in ourselves instead of constantly being on the move may, in fact, have a sustainable impact on many of us. Or at least that’s what I hope 🤷🏼♀️ • 👉🏻 How do you feel about #socialdistancing and isolation? This guy kept following us throughout our entire dive at #RaggedyCay in Utila. • Some of you may or may not know that I'm a huge fan of puffer fish 🐡 and this dive has definitely been one of my highlights during my trip to Honduras 😍 This porcupine puffer fish was super curious and kept circling me and the camera for at least 20 minutes. After a while we even saw a second one with a different pattern, but the same big cow-like eyes 👀 #socute • • • 🇩🇪 Dieser süße Kugelfisch ist uns während des gesamten Tauchgangs bei Raggedy Cay in Utila gefolgt. • Ein paar von euch wissen vielleicht, dass ich ein riesen Kugelfisch-Fan bin 🐡 und dieser Tauchgang war definitiv eines meiner Highlights in Honduras 😍 Dieser Kugelfisch war nicht nur richtig groß, sondern auch total neugierig und hat mich und meine Kamera für eine ganze Weile umkreist. Nach einiger Zeit haben wir sogar noch einen zweiten gesehen, mit anderem Muster, aber mit den gleichen, süßen, großen Augen 👀 #sosüß

Ich denke, ich würde jetzt zu anderen Communities gehören, wahrscheinlich mehr Zeit damit verbringen, andere Vereine oder Initiativen zu unterstützen, andere Glaubensansätze und Philosophien zu verfolgen, vielleicht andere Prioritäten zu setzen - ich wäre jetzt wahrscheinlich ein ganz anderer Mensch 🤷🏼♀️ • 👉🏻 Habt ihr jemals darüber nachgedacht, wie euer eigenes Leben jetzt aussehen würde, wenn ihr zu einer bestimmten Zeit auf ein anderes Schiff gesprungen wärt? ⛵
Probably one of the most famous dive sites around #Utila: the Haliburton Wreck ⛴ • It's a cargo ship that was sunk in the 1990s in a community-led project to create an artificial reef in the local waters 🐠 It lies at 30m and sits perfectly upright on the sand, making it one of the most beautiful wreck sites I’ve ever seen 😯 • The wheelhouse at the very top of the ship was probably my favorite part of the wreck. There were many different kinds of fish surrounding us, and we even got to see two incredibly large tiger groupers 🐟, who seemed to be the wheelhouse guards ⚔ • • • 🇩🇪 Wahrscheinlich einer der berühmtesten Tauchplätze rund um #Utila: das Haliburton Wrack ⛴ • Haliburton ist ein Frachtschiff, das in den 1990er Jahren in einem von der lokalen Gemeinde geführten Projekt zur Entstehung eines künstlichen Riffs in den örtlichen Gewässern versenkt wurde 🐠 Es liegt 30m tief und ist nicht nur top in Schuss, sondern sitzt auch perfekt aufrecht im Sand, weshalb es definitiv zu den schönsten Wracks zählt, die ich je betaucht habe 😯 • Das Steuerhaus ganz oben auf dem Schiff war übrigens meine Lieblingsstelle. Es gab viele verschiedene Arten von Fischen um uns herum, und sogar zwei unglaublich große Tiger-Zackenbarsche 🐟, die das Steuerhaus offenbar bewachen ⚔
Utila 🏝 Utila is one of those little islands where you can perfectly slow down and unwind. There is not much choice when it comes to shops and activities. There are no large resorts (if you want that, head to the neighboring island of Roatan). And hence the people and other travelers you find on Utila are refreshingly different 😊 • All you need to do is BE YOURSELF! 💫 No one cares about your background, no one judges. Utila welcomes you as the person you are, and all you do is live in and enjoy the moment 🧘🏼♀️ • 👉🏻 Which place in the world has made you feel the same way? 🌎 • • • 🇩🇪 Utila ist eine dieser kleinen Inseln, auf denen ihr perfekt runterfahren und euch entspannen könnt 🏝 Es gibt keine große Auswahl an Geschäften oder Aktivitäten. Es gibt keine großen Resorts (wenn ihr das sucht, fahrt am besten auf die Nachbarinsel Roatan). Missing my view from last week. I had the most amazing week taking my advanced freediving course @freediveutila. I would have never imagined to exhale before a dive. I didn’t think it was possible to hold my breath for 11 seconds shy of five minutes after a day of training. I’m up to 26 meters, it’s becoming easier, and I’m more relaxed. We sailed away from Utila today on a “visa run” to Placenta, Belize. During the ride we saw dolphins, went snorkelling, and had FRESH tuna ceviche caught off the boat 😋😋 While our new friends will be heading back to the dream island tomorrow, we’re heading to Caye Caulker to explore more island towns in a new country.
Utila has been the land of highs and lows for us 😅 on our second night here, SJ’s rental bike was stolen outside a bar even though it was locked up 🙊 but we’ve figured out a transportation substitution right away. Tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to Utila as we sail to Belize. Half of our memories here are a little hazy (we jumped how high off of what dock last night?!?) so it’s clear we’ll have to come back to make some more. 🧜🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️
