Sometimes, even good saws aren't 100% accurate. I use a gauge or gismo of some kind on every big tool I've got when making cuts so I can be sure they're where I want them to be - and then I cut a test piece for verification, and make adjustments as needed. Here you can see my saw's marking gauge is off by about 1°, verified by this nifty digital angle gauge I got on Amazon. Now for some miters! P.S.
