Happy late birthday to famous British drag queen Foo Foo Lammar (b. March 22, 1937 as Francis Joseph Pearson; d. 7 Nov 2003, aged 66)! 🎉 🩷💋💅🏻✨ Foo Foo Lammar was based in the city he grew up in of Manchester, England 🇬🇧. He discovered drag at age 20, around 1957. By the 1970s, Lammar had made a name for herself in the city of Manchester, & continued to dress in drag. Lammar played mostly to straight audiences, saying that he saw himself as “more of a comic in a frock.” He appeared in radio, television shows, and even in theaters. Foo Foo unfortunately passed after a long fight with cancer on 7 Nov 2003. 💋 Lammar was also a club owner, having bought a club in 1971 & made it his own club, calling it Foo Foo's Palace. ✨ Foo Foo was also very big in donating to charities & hosting fundraisers, having raised at least £4 million over the course of his career.
