It’s #foodiefriday ! I’ve been looking forward to this foodie piece coming out! I adored Cork Fire Kitchen in SoCal’s Temecula Wine Country, it’s a special restaurant that’s being shaped into a beacon of sustainability by Chef Ben Diaz. It’s also my first piece for Savory Traveler magazine. Yay! 🔗 LINK IN BIO 🔗 The visit to Cork Fire Kitchen was part of a fabulous Travel Writers University press trip and retreat. Meeting the wonderful Norma and Annette from Visit Temecula was a true treat. They took great care of us! Thank you again. My highlights were a Cherrywood Cocktail, made with small batch whiskey, luxardo, simple syrup, chocolate bitters, lusciously smoked with apple hickory, and the chef’s special Braised Lumina Lamb Shank. The shank was generous and fall-off-the-bone tender, deliciously bathed in a Vadouvan red wine reduction, resting on a bed of honeynut squash puree, braised pearl onions, and tomato confit.
