I de kommende solrige og varme måneder foretrækker jeg oftest de lidt mere lette og friske vine som virkeligt fremstår flot når de bliver let afkølet. I dag blev det en Le Paradou, som kommer fra vinhuset Chateau Pesquie i Languedoc, Frankrig 🇫🇷 Vinen er på ren Granache, som etiketten afslører. I glasset er vinen flot rubinrød. Duften har tydelige noter af modne mørke bær, lidt kirsebær og en smule vanilje til sidst. I munden får man straks nogle rigtigt flotte tanniner og en god tørhed, uden det bliver voldsomt. Syren sætter godt gang i mundvandet og hele vinen rundes af med lidt frugtsødme og en smule peber. • Wine & Soul was established in 2001 by husband and wife, Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva. They started off with no vineyards and no wines, but with a shared dream to give the old vines in Pinhão Valley a voice and to showcase the qualities of the traditional varieties in the region. They spent the following years acquiring land, founding a winery and expanding their portfolio, before finally releasing their first wine, Pinta. A single vineyard wine from a companion planting with 40+ different grape varieties. In 2009 they acquired Quinta da Manoella. An estate owned by the Serôdio Borges family through 5 generations, Jorge being the 5th, with a history dating back as far as 1838 and 100+ years old vineyards. Their first release from this quinta was the Vinhas Velhas, meaning ’old vines’ in Portuguese. 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐄 🇵🇹 Wine & Soul - Douro Guru Branco 2020 Grapes (field blend, 4 native grapes) sourced from a northern exposed vineyard with 59 years old vines and schist and granite soils. Partially destemmed, crushed and fermented in French oak barrels (9% new) for 4 weeks, followed by 8 months of agening with regular bâttonage. 12,463 bottles released. 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 Exotic fruits like creamy honeydew, ripe pineapple and dusty passion fruit are gently crisped up a bit by yellow apples and dried apricots, before squeezes of grape, drops of lime and grates of orange peel set in with some elegant twitches and twirls. Chamomile, orchids and green tea in a bitter-sweet addition. To this vanilla powder, whipped cream, Danish ‘ymer’ and yeasty inputs, as well as earthy and white spice buy-ins. A fresh, fragrant nose offers ripe exotic fruits, crispy stone fruits and small chops of herbs, and a slightly creamy, though dry and easy-going palate shows a citrus-fruited medley, some stone-fruited snaps, a fistfull of white spices and a delightfully profound gravelly minerality, a chilly swoosh to the gums and a volatile chunky, yet predominantly grippy and dry acidity. CHÂTEAU-CHALON 2000 Domaine Macle, le miracle des vins de voile. Un grand jaune - et nous ne parlons pas de l’anisette marseillaise s’il vous plaît - est un grand vin de terroir, authentique, défiant le temps et nous emmenant dans des sphères gustatives rares et quasi sans limites. Vin d’initiation, il n’est nullement évident, facile, aguicheur. Cette oxydation maîtrisée, ce voile levurien est une porte à savoir ouvrir afin de déceler toute la magie, tout le terroir qu’il permet de visiter. Là, le voyage, la magie, la vibration opèrent. Sur ce 2000 du très grand Jean Macle, on sent que le vin vient de terminer son adolescence. Il début sa vie de jeune adulte avec une maturité déconcertante. Plutôt que de vous parler d’aromatique, je préfère vous parler de texture, d’équilibre, de trame, cela me semble bien plus intéressant et à retenir d’un grand vin comme celui-ci. La sensation de pureté est impressionnante, presque cristallin, ce qui pourrait paraître antinomique avec la notion de vin de voile. Et pourtant, la salinité, la fraîcheur structurent ce vin. Pureté des arômes également, allant bien plus loin que le curry ou la noix attendues. Nous avons la fraîcheur du céleri, l’intensité du cumin, l’élégance du safran, de légères notes de mirabelles, et bien sûr ces fruits secs. La bouche n’explose pas, elle diffuse. Longueur immense. Quel très grand vin ! ♥️ Au fait, saviez-vous que Château-Chalon est une AOC de 60 hectares seulement, décidant en fonction de la qualité des raisins avant récolte si un millésime sera produit ou non ? Estamos ante un vino con una graduacion de 14 grados y con la peculiaridad de ser de la DO Priorat. Notas de cata: Color rojo con violeta muy intenso y brillante. On the palate, delicious fresh orchard fruit character, maybe also a touch of grapefruit, with balanced acidity, rock salt salinity and a plush mouthfeel. 💁♂️Vidiano, one of three grapes used in this wine, almost died out on Crete at the turn of the millennium, but is now having a small revival. Although varietals are to be found, it is often blended with other grapes – in this instance Assyrtiko and Malvasia.
