These nine stories, tied loosely to this house take us from Delhi, to Landour and all the way to England. From the 1980s all the way to 2010.
I love books that hold a sense of peace and calm within their pages. This book had that and then some. There is a stillness in this book, a quiet, gentle flow thoughts, musings and lives.
There is nothing dramatic or outlandish in these stories.
These are people living fairly ordinary lives, working jobs, falling in love, being confused, moving homes and finding their place in the world.
Things we all do. Feelings we all know too well.
This book was my companion on a particularly drizzly day, and like raindrops falling on the roof gently, these stories and characters walked into my life or rather gently guided me into theirs.
A short read that I recommend you read slowly. Perhaps accompanied by a cup of Chai.
Also, can we please take a minute to appreciate how incredibly beautiful this book is?! What stellar design. I may have spent several minutes just staring at it's sheer beauty.
