Decades ago, a vicious cabal of male poets contrived—quite publicly and successfully—to undermine the writing career, confidence, and health of their dear friend Fern. Now, after Fern has taken a turn for the worse, her three old friends decide that it’s finally time to strike back—in secret, of course, since Fern is far too gentle to approve of a vendetta. All they need is a plan with suitably Shakespearean drama. But as sweet and satisfying as revenge can be, it’s not always so cut and dried.’ This was meh. Almost DNF’d it, but because it was a short story, 34 pages, I decided to just finish it. Inspired by 3 interactions over the last 24 hours, and more so my judgemental attitude toward people who might well just have been having a bad day. My mind went into overdrive and created four #shortstory #vignettes with 1 common theme. When I finish them and find somewhere to publish them, all will be revealed….. Bottom line tho is. None of us know what’s happening in another’s head. It’s much easier to be “judgey” than show compassion. I’m definetely guilty of this. When I get close to final product I will add a couple of “trigger warnings” as I feel these pieces go dark and deep. But most importantly - damn it felt good to birth these ideas. The more I write, the more confident, the more confident, the more I write. And so it continues.

I worked on this painting while thinking about this short story that I wrote. I like writing magical realism because it creates wonderful stories. “She is the one who illuminates the night, the guide of those who sleep under the moon. She emerges with her light and with her awaken the ancient souls and sing chants under the stars. Granted, he still looked composed, but there were signs of stress. Pada awalnya, Rendra merasa sedih saat Hendra tak pernah kembali, namun semakin hari kesedihannya berubah menjadi kebencian. Dia merasa bahwa kakaknya telah menelantarkannya. Hingga akhirnya, Rendra pun bertekad mencari pekerjaan mencukupi hidupnya sendiri. Puluhan tahun pun berlalu, hingga suatu saat ketika Rendra (60) pergi ke restoran tradisional yang baru berdiri di pinggir kotanya. Dia mencium bau makanan yang familiar, itu adalah nasi goreng jawa. "Aku tidak tau apa yang terjadi pada kakakku di hari itu, aku membencinya karena dia tak pernah kembali. Namun, kufikir kebencian yang dipendam terlalu lama ini juga bisa disebut kerinduan. MY CHILDHOOD ADVENTURES (a short funny story about my childhood) PT 1. 🤣🤣🤤🤤 Many of us have done this, but let me just share my own experience. While I was a kid, I used to steal my mum's fish and meat many times. One day, I was in the kitchen with my mom boiling meat. We planned on cooking a delicious meal of fufu and eru later in the day. The aroma that came out of the pot was overwhelming me, but there was nothing I could do. I was fully aware of what the consequences would be if I made a move. Like an answer to my prayers, my mum left the kitchen suddenly. She went into the house to get something. That was my opportunity and I seized it. I got the kitchen rag and opened the boiling pot. With my bare hand, I removed a piece of meat and stuffed it into my mouth. The searing pain I felt in my mouth was unbearable because it was very hot, but it was worth it. I struggled to chew the half-cooked but tasty piece of meat, but it's hotness wouldn't allow me. I shifted the meat from one end of my mouth to the other, then my hand and back into my mouth, hoping that it would cool off enough for me to eat it before my mum returned. But that was not to be. I thought of swallowing it whole, but that would have been a bad idea for two reasons: one, I wouldn't have enjoyed it's taste and two, it would have burnt the hell out of my throat. Then, in great shock and fear, I heard the approaching familiar footsteps of my mum. She was coming back to the kitchen. Time was against me. My mind, like a computer search engine searched for a solution and thankfully, one came. As my mum apprached the kitchen door, I left my seat and attempted to exit the kitchen. But I was too late. I had wasted too much time. I bumped into her at the door and received the first slap for walking carelessly. A man had a wife and a mistress and he didn't know who to choose as his Best. He decided to go see a wise man and find answers to his problem. He asked the wise man if he had to be with his wife or his mistress. The wise man looked at him and took two pots in his hands. One with a rose 🌹🌹 and the other with a cactus 🌵🌵 and asked him, "What will you choose if I ask you to choose one among these two pots? ". The man looked at him and smiled, " Obviously, I will choose the one with a rose 🌹🌹". The wise man smiled, " You proved that you are reckless and rushed. You don't deserve any of this pots either, since you choosed the one with a rose. Neither the one containing a rose 🌹🌹 nor the one with a cactus 🌵🌵. Some men driven by beauty chooses what seems to shine most. The rose 🌹🌹 is beautiful but will wither soon. But the cactus 🌵🌵 even though it is not very beautiful at first sight, remains the same, whatever the climate is. Dark green with thorns, but when bloom, offers you a beautiful flower. Your wife knows all your weaknesses, flaws and mistakes, but still love you for who you are. Your mistress doesn't want you whole but just the beautiful part. Your smiles, victories, caresses. Your wife loves your tears and defeats. She is beside you for better and for worse. When difficult times arrives, your mistress will go away and look for someone else. But your wife will always stay by your side no matter what. Don't look now that everything looks good. Things might not go that long. It's never too late. Don't despise the cactus 🌵🌵 to get the rose 🌹🌹. Time is coming when you will know the importance of the cactus. Until then, make the right decision. But one more thing, don't leave your diamond at home and go in search of stones somewhere else".
