Rootbound by Tarah Dewitt
I’m unsure why I waited so long to read a Tarah Dewitt book, because Rootbound was excellent! It is / has:
📸 F/M cowboy romance
📷 Love after divorce / heartbreak
📸 Standalone
From the start with a raw prologue that broke my heart a little, I knew I was going to love Rootbound. Both tender and wonderfully funny, this book was a great romantic read.
The romance between Tait and Henry had the swoony moments I crave and good romantic progression (that wasn’t quite linear). Their blossoming relationship explores friendship and healing, I was happy everytime they interacted (or thought of one another).
I should also mention Henry is 😍 - a Viking looking cowboy with a big heart and strong loyalty.
But there is more to Rootbound than a good romance. The book’s overall plot is robust, there are some surprises! It also delves into family estrangement, subsequent reconnection, and learning to trust after heartbreak (not just romantic heartbreak). Plus all the side characters were developed and added to the story, I cared about everyone in this story.
