Book Review: The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell Wow! I was proud of myself when I thought I had predicted what happened but my cockiness was short-lived. The turn of events started to uncover things I hadn't thought of. This book is one of the best mystery novels I've read! So far, this is the 3rd book I've read by Lisa Jewell and I'm loving it! She writes exactly what I crave to read. The kind of mystery and suspense thriller that keeps me on the edge of my seat. I currently have six more books by Lisa in paperback and it's so hard to pick which one I should read next! @lisajewelluk ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://www.amazon.com/Night-She-Disappeared-Novel/dp/1982137371/ref https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6460243641?book_show_action=false #bookreviews #bookreview #bookworm #books #bookstagram #fiction #fictionbooks #novel #book #booklover #booklovers #booknerd #bookstagrammer #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookaddict #booksbooksbooks #bookrecommendations #bookrecommendation #booksofinstagram #bookish #bookcommunity #bookobsessed #bookgram #bookblog #bookfinds #bookclub #bookshelf #booklove #mysterynovel #bestselling

Book Review ✨ The Seven Year Slip When Clementines aunt passes, she inherits her apartment. As a successful publicist she has her life planned out, until one day she finds a strange man in her apartment, but he's living there, seven years in the past. What could possibly go wrong.... Or right? 🍋 Magical element 🍋 Romance 🍋 Time Jump 🍋 Queer representation Y'all said this book was good, y'all didn't say it was THIS good! It's not often I'll read almost 200 pages in a day, but this one had me hooked, pretty much from the start. I felt happiness, sadness, surprise - all the emotions. This book had me wrapped around it's finger. I LOVED Iwan, he was sweet, funny, handsome, a great cook - you can't ask for more really. Also "Lemon"? C'mon! 🥹 I adored the banter between Clementine and Iwan. They were so likeable, the quips from her were funny and he was kind and genuine and a friend everyone should have in their life. This is most definitely my new favourite read of 2024 and it is the perfect book to get you out of a slump or one to read after a not so great book. "𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒊𝒕?... To Kill a Shadow 🕷️ by Katherine Quinn 3/5 ⭐ I honestly don't know how to rate this because it was okay overall but I disliked a lot about it. The plot sounded interesting enough and it started strong but wow is Ki annoying. She was such a pick me girl and fell the need to remind you she's not a dainty flower. Also, her chemistry with Jude felt non-existent to me. It felt like the author didn't know how to write the love interest so Jude felt like a Walmart version of Xaden Riorson. Two things that got me: the spider scene (horrifying, gross, lives in my head rent free) and the Patrick thing (iykyk). Blurb ⬇️ Jude Maddox knows nothing of love or even light. He knows only his grim duty as the Hand of Death, to lead the Knights of the Eternal Star into a land filled with nightmares and certain demise. It’s only when he sees her―a young woman with wild, amber eyes who’s as fierce, defiant, and swift as the shadow beasts themselves―that he feels the warmth of life in his blood… The other Knights may fear their lethal commander, with his hard, merciless demeanor. Outcast Kiara Frey sees only a leader, a man who knows how to survive. Someone like her. But wanting him is as treacherous as the shadows themselves…and just as seductive. With a kingdom on the verge of collapse, the Knights must now venture into the darkest heart of the land and uncover the secrets of the misted shadows, where evil will prey upon their minds and feast on their flesh. It will betray their senses. It will surpass their nightmares. Most of them will die. But they have no other choice. Because the only way to fight the darkness…is to become it. #youngadultfantasy #youngadultbooks #ireadya #romantasy #fantasyromance #bookreview #bookreading #booksreviews📚 #bookrecs📚 #bookopinion #booktalk #bookthoughts #booksuggestions #booksbooksbooks #bookswithadventure #readerforlife #readmorefantasy #readingaddict #readmorebooks #readingismagic #readingtime #bookcommunity #bookcontent #bookish #alwaysreading #feelingbookish

I suppose we all could say it's about two people, Marianne and Connell. They circle in and out of each other's lives like mistimed comets – high school, university, those liminal spaces afterwards. The world thinks Connell is popular, normal... and they see Marianne as strange. But that's just the surface stuff, and those labels peel away so easily. The real story? It's not exactly plot-driven...more like atmosphere. Two people awkwardly figuring out how to exist together, how to exist at all. Their conversations are filled with gaps, silences that echo louder than words. A lot of misunderstandings. Sometimes I'd want to throw the book across the room in frustration. But that's what makes it so real, so painfully human. They hurt each other, unwittingly mostly. There's this raw ache in the way they long for something they can't define, and that desperate longing leads them astray, messes with their heads. I feel, more than understand, their internal battles. It's about power and class and the stupid things we say that wedge themselves deep into our minds to fester. The writing is sharp. Cuts straight to the bone. No flowery descriptions, just bluntness. And yet, it's poetic. Not in a pretty way, but in the way it captures that gnawing sense of being young and a bit confused...desperate to feel everything even if it's the sting of self-sabotage. I won't say it's cheerful. It's messy. Uncomfortable at times. But it stayed with me. I found myself thinking about Marianne and Connell after I finished the book. It's a reminder that we're all a bit broken, fumbling towards connection in a world that doesn't seem to understand us. Maybe we don't even understand ourselves half the time. But in that brokenness, in those awkward pauses and desperate misfires, maybe that's where something beautiful begins. #review Richly imagined and effortlessly divulged – some just three pages long- short stories quickly flow in and out of worlds in Biopeculiar, unfolding on Earth and some in faraway planets. You hear from bees, birds, otters, telepathic trees, polar bears, and even a dragon. Sentient clouds and their human herders, individuals whose songs inspire rain, and many others persisting in dystopian times take up many other chapters in the book. They collectively charm you to partake and be conscious of their worlds and possibilities – of both humans and other than humans.  While each chapter is guided by the otherworldly, it is connected by an overarching singular frame imaginatively localised by the author—one of a changing Earth, her losing or (lost) battle with human-induced changes, and its influence on all species, including the perpetrators. These stories are meditative and playful, but not without being blunt about this collective message.  The first book from the Westland Book’s IF – speculative fiction list, Biopeculiar, is refreshing! . . . #bookreview #bookrecommendations #speculativefiction #fiction #books #reading

My ARC review of Lifers by @kcblumebooks •Synopsis• RILEY Nearly everyone who enters Elsberry leaves in one way or another, but I am the one constant. I am always here. I continue to remain. Time doesn't pass in days between these walls. It passes in people. The girl with peach pink hair who I loved in my head but never got the chance to speak to. The boy that swung from the stairwell because he couldn't love himself enough. Until Blair steps out of the back of that ambulance, time stops then. Her wrists are wrapped in gauze and her lips are bloodied, but she's more alive than anything else I've seen in some time. Dr. Demosi warns me that I'm fixating again, but what we have is real. I can feel it. The closer we get, the more I start to believe what they say about how I landed here. I could do it again too, if it means she won't leave me. •Review• Love love love Make sure to check trigger warnings before hand but love! At only 98 pages I wasn’t sure how much of an impact this would have on me, but when I say this will be living rent free in my mind for a while to come I mean it. I love Riley and Blaire, their connection, relationship, everything about all of their broken little pieces broke me as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️/5 #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #arcreview #bookreview #booklover #bookaddict

📚 Magic Bonded ☆ ☆ ☆ + half Author: @charmaine_ross_author Series: Cursed Shifters - Book 2 I recently finished the 1st book and thought I'd get into the 2nd. I haven't felt the urge to quickly read them one after the other, as each book has followed a different character. In saying that, the plot of this one was basically a carbon copy of book 1 just different characters. While I did enjoy it, I didn't feel as much of a connection to the characters, although I did really love Anise. **SPOILERS BELOW** I did like the idea of the grimoire being hidden in each different person and being bound with death magic 🫣 was an interesting touch! I'm also interested to see where the 3rd book goes with the next character, and what will happen! #BookTok #Bookstagram #Bookish #Books #BookGirl #BookReader #BookGirls #NewBooks #Reading #ShhImReading #AlwaysReading #Kindle #KindleBooks #Paperback #paperbackgiveaway #Hardcover #BookClub #AustralianReaders #BookReview #Magic #CursedShifters #ReverseHarem #Harem #Shifters #DragonShifters

To not review this book would be an injustice 🥹 📚The Child in You - Stefanie Stahl This book has been in my read list since last year and finally got to read it this year! SUPERB ⭐️ the thing with this psychology/self reflection/self help book is they're hard to read, especially this book is in wayy too deep and saying all the right stuffs, asking you to re-evaluate your values and to know where it came from, and is it serving you? It's hard to confront yourself you know 😅 There's esentially 3 inner spirit/mind(?)/demon(?) in us; Sun Child, Shadow Child, Inner Adult And everyone of us must have all of these!! Should everyone read this? YES! Is this a parenting book? Not specifically, it touch on many subjects parenting included but more on the self dev Will I re-read this? hehe hmm this will be hard to read again but yes definitely but maybe not in the near future 🤓 Again, I think our most important journey here on earth is the journey to know who we really are. And from my experience this journey can be painful to process all my past traumas and what makes me, me #herinsbookclub #bookreview #thechildinyou #stefaniestahl #bookstagram #books #read #readmorebooks #psychologybooks

"Infinity: Antah Asti Prarambh" by Sushant is a truly remarkable book that resonates deeply with readers. The way it blends romance, tragedy, and hope in a relatable manner seems to have left a lasting impression on you. The characters of Sushant and Priya felt so real and relatable, and their journey serves as a testament to the enduring power of love and hope. This book has made a profound impact on me. It is a captivating read, with its blend of romance, tragedy, and hope. The title itself, meaning "the end is the beginning," hints at a story that delves deep into the complexities of life and love. This book invites readers to contemplate the enduring nature of human connections and the power of hope in the face of adversity. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOK!!! #bookrecommendations #bookobsessedlife #bookreview #bookishlove #bookstagram

Funny Story by Emily Henry 🤍 book review: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well…. This is her BEST YETTTTT. Emily Henry and I have a bit of a tumultuous relationship. There’s a 50/50 chance I’ll either love or hate the book. E.g. Hated Beach Read, Loved People We Meet on Vacation. Loved Book Lovers, HATTTEEEED Happy Place (honestly what even WAS that?!). Well, I am extremely happy to report that I LOVED Funny Story and in fact, this is my favourite of her works so far. Maybe it’s because there are so many things I can relate to in this story (I was engaged to be married but called off my wedding the week the invites were due to go out and just two weeks later MY best friend decided to shack up with my shitty ex ((they’re married now lol wtf))), but I was totally hooked and engaged with Daphne’s storyline the whole way through. I know the feeling of sorting through wedding shit that is now surplus to requirements, figuring out who you are as an individual post-controlling-ex breakup, making new friends that aren’t your exes friends, and losing friends and family in the breakup process. But I also know what it’s like to have an absent dad, and much of what Daphne described was extreeemmmeeelly relatable.  I also like that Emily Henry writes characters that are in their 30s since so much of romance is centered around young people. It’s nice to read about imperfect 30-somethings who are still tryna figure their shit out, you know? Coz same. Miles Nowak was also my favourite male lead of Henry’s, I liked his quirks, his “odd jobs”, that he didn’t have some huge high-flying corporate career and had his own mummy issues to work through. Funny Story really IS a funny story, and at its heart ultimately it’s a story about learning to trust those that love you, and understanding that no one is perfect and it’s ok if your friends/family/partner occasionally screws up. It doesn’t mean they’re terrible, they’re just human. ALSO, I feel like this whole book is a sign to talk to someone you think would be a cool new friend. Coz it’s hard to make new friends in your 30s you guys!!!!! Anyways, five stars, loved it heaps, made a cute moodboard about it <3 #bookreview #emilyhenry

😉 Leseempfehlung? Hell, yes!!! 😍 #darkromance #morallygrey #powercouple #review #bookrecommendation #bookreview #buchempfehlung #rezension #burningcross #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #buchblog #buchbloggeroninstagram

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover My rating: 🌟 🌟 🌟.5 /5 Spice: 🌶 🌶 🌶/5 Brothers best friend Pilot (MMC) Enemies to lovers Forbidden love Duel timeline and POV Protective brother Tate (MFC) moves in with her pilot brother whilst she is studying and working to help save money 💰 before getting herself her own place. As soon as she moves in, she encounters Miles (MMC), her brothers close, fellow pilot friend/neighbour. Not great start as he's wasted at that moment but they soon melt with the attraction they have for each other and engage in a steamy, hot 'romance'. Only thing is though, Miles had a really bad experience when he was 18 and has not moved past the trauma 😕 and so is emotionally unavailable. Even though he tells her right from the start, his 2 rules are don't ask about his past or expect a future, she agrees but secretly is in hope that he will change his mind. His relationship with Tate forces him to face his past in order to mend his broken head/heart from where his past love went from beautiful to Ugly for him. For 6 yrs he didn't 'do love' which I think is so sad and he should of had councilling and moved on alot sooner! Great book, my 1st C Hoover book, will definitely read more as I like her writing style 😎 #bookcomunity #bookbookbook #bookreviewersofinstagram #bookreviewer #bookreview #romancebooks #rom #uglylove #bookstagram #booksofig #booksofinstagram

▪️ #lecture #livre #passionlecture #lectrice #lectriceaddict #avislecture #book #booklover #bookaddict #bookcommunity #booklife #instabook #instaread #read #readingtime #bookstagram #booksta #bookaholic #bookphotography #booknerd #bloglitteraire #bibliotheque #belgianreader #lectureaddict #bookstagrambelgium #bookreview #belgianbookstagram #voleursdefumée #sallygreen

ℝ𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨: Me That You See by Anne Freeman ~ *𝕊𝕨𝕚𝕡𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕤𝕪𝕟𝕠𝕡𝕤𝕚𝕤* ~ 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: Wow. What to even say about this glorious second book by Anne Freeman! I somehow managed to slowly absorb every word, reading only a few pages every sitting and then other days absolutely devour multiple chapters at a time. If I hadn’t been so busy these past few weeks, I can say confidently that I wouldn’t have been able to stop reading until it was done. I got teary-eyed, I screamed internally, got frustrated by the main characters inability to tell the truth, and laughed a lot. This was a fantastic read with plot twists and romance galore. And the spice, it was spicy 🌶️🥵 Anne’s writing is brilliant and the characters, oh my goodness the characters are so deliciously human in every way. Such a diverse range of characters making this book all the more beautiful. This story was a wonderful journey of self-discovery, a similar yet vastly different vibe to Anne’s debut novel, Returning to Adelaide. I adored the ending, even though I also wanted so much more of Lexi and Ethan, disappointed to have reached the end. Thanks so much to the wonderful and kind @annefreemanwrites and @hawkeyepublishing for giving me the opportunity to read this! ~ ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott BOTM accidentally sent me this book and it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while. It’s a modern day fairy tale about estranged siblings that reunite to collect a mysterious inheritance. The story was enjoyable, a little gory and dark at times for me. #book #booklover #bookstagram #books #bookreview #bookrecommendations #booklover

Book Review 📖 I really wanted to love Girl Abroad by Elle Kennedy but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. I love Elle Kennedy and I will continue to read her books but I just couldn't get into this one. I felt this book just had a different vibe to her sports romances (I am a sucker for a hockey romance 🏒) The book was fast paced and easy to read with dual storylines - Abbey's semester abroad in the UK where she's involved in a love triangle with Jack and Nate; as well as trying to solve the mystery surrounding the Tulley family painting for her history class. I'm not a big fan of love triangles so that could be a reason why I didn't connect with this book. I didn't feel the passion, chemistry or tension between the characters. Being an Aussie I also didn't feel the Aussie character Jack was portrayed well - I didn't feel the way he spoke was Aussie at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you like... ✈️ love triangles ✈️ forbidden love ✈️ flatshare ✈️ UK living ✈️ found family ...then maybe this is the book for you. 💭 What are your thoughts on Girl Abroad? Did you love it? Or did it fall short for you? xo A . . . . #books #booksbooksbooks #bookreview #bookreviewer #bookrecommendations #booked #bookish #bookcommunity #bookaddict #booklover #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #booknerd #bookworm #igbooks #igreads #read #reading #readersofinstagram #reader

Lucy Chase is back in Plumpton, Texas not because she wants to be, she hates this little town. Five years ago, she was found wandering covered in the blood of her best friend “Savvy”. Everyone thinks Lucy killed Savvy, Lucy has no recollection of what happened that day. Did Lucy, do it? The cops have very little evidence. Unable to say no to her grandmother she is back in town to celebrate her birthday with a grand party amongst all the town folks that still think she is the guilty one. Podcaster, Ben Owens has a true crime podcast called “Listen for the Lie”. He is in town to see if he can solve the murder of Savannah Harper. Lucy has never been interviewed and somehow Ben not only scores the first interview he gets her involved in his investigation. Listen for the Lie alternates between Lucy and Ben’s podcast. It was fun, fast paced with twist and turns that will keep you guessing. Lucy is snarky and sarcastic and the podcast interviews provide plenty of small town drama whose characters all had secrets that they spill on each other. There are moments of tension and suspense. Amy Tintera writing style to use the podcast to drive this story was brilliant and for that reason I feel this book was meant to be heard. The audiobook was a dual narration; January LaVoy and Will Damron delivery was spot on. Follow me on : https://linktr.ee/rosiesreadingnook

It has finally slowed down enough for me to finally update my reading journal. Moving all of your things is hard once you realize how much you have accumulated. I'm literally almost two months behind, 🤣 but I made it before we got there! I didn't meet my March goal of 14 books. I only read four! I'm behind on posting about the books and my reviews of them as well. 😮‍💨 I'll need to get on that soon! I might just end up posting my March and April reads together. I don't know yet! I hope this month has been good for you all! #bookstagram #readingjournal #booklover #bookworm #booknerd #readingcommunity #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookaddict #booksofinstagram #kingofair #reignofdragons 🐉

Some of the medication and situations would be different now, but the story remains relevant just the same. Calum is a sweet, caring, beautiful man. Unfortunately, the person he has placed his trust and life to doesn't have the same traits. After arriving home early from working at tattoo studio one day, he walks straight into a situation he can no longer pretend doesn't exist. I'm running to the station and grabbing a ticket to anywhere else, but here, fate takes over. Brix is a part-time tattoo artist, part-time battery chicken rescuer. On his way home from a farm one day, he spies a sad, cold, scared looking man on the side of the road. He can't believe his eyes when he swears it is someone that crosses his mind often. A man Brix was once close to but without warning chose to leave behind. What is Calum running from, and can Brix manage to hide his deepest darkness secrets from him or even scarier? Actually, trust to share them. House of Cards is not a book filled with spice or even really romance. It is a book to remind us that you never really know what someone else is going through. It is a story of love and friendship that is endlessly unconditional. @garrett_leigh @gay.romance.reviews #bookstagram #bookworm #booklover #booksofinstagram #bookstagrammer #books #bookphotography #reading #bookshelf #goodreads #read #bookreview #mmromance #queerromance #readingjournal #mmromancebook

#bookreviews by @deepavishal51 Driftwood by @beetashok Written by seaman and Captain Beetashok, this book contains intriguing stories of people and ships at the sea. Wonderful description of ships and the tumultuous seas, harrowing trysts with pirates, adventures and mis-adventures of captains and life-long friendships that can be found only in the ship and the sea - all these make this book one enticing read! This is the second book of Captain B that I read. The best part of his stories is the vintage-charm that his stories contain, something that we rarely find in modern stories. Recommended for those who like seas, ships and adventures that can be found only with these two! Quest Of A Lost Soul by @roohi_whispers This book is a wonderful collection of soulful and poignant poems. Through her musings, Roohi has woven a beautiful tapestry of words in the form of both short and long poems that express joy, grief, hope and despair. 𝒜𝓁𝓁’𝓈 𝒲𝑒𝓁𝓁, 𝒷𝓎 𝑀𝑜𝓃𝒶 𝒜𝓌𝒶𝒹 👠💊 𝑅𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔: 5 / 5 ✨ Shakespeare, chronic pain and witches. Wow. 𝑅𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌: Where do I even begin? I love Shakespeare, and all of the Shakespeare references had me giggling with joy. There’s 2 main plays that are referenced: All’s Well (surprise), and Macbeth. All’s Well, specially Helen’s role as a healer and witch/doctor/miracle maker, is the most important parallel (and plot point). But MB is very present as well. The cursed play with its more ominous version of witchcraft can be seen from the role that ruined Miranda’s life, to more subtle moments like the three mysterious men who speak in riddles and have some sort of magic - Miranda’s 3 witches. Additionally, there’s the theme of medical gaslighting and people’s refusal to see pain. From doctors who don’t believe patients, to friends who roll their eyes at pain. It was infuriating and too well written. Too real. So now we have our big question; How do you deal with pain, specially the seemingly untreatable one? Do you trust medicine? Or do you trust magic? Both, it seems, have a price. Mona Awad did it again. My mouth was literally open by the time I finished this book. Would absolutely recommend. 👠 Bunny or All’s Well? 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 | 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 Review: ♾️/5 I’m sorry but WHAT. Emily Henry completely demolished my world with this book. She was able to drag me through all the emotions - I cried, laughed, screamed and overall fell in love with Daphne and Miles. Can’t forget that the writing and her poetic wording was incredible. I don’t think I have ever related to a character more than Daphne. Her journey through this story wasn’t just about romance but also bringing in friendship to the mix and finding your true self. Her GROWTH, I can’t even. Miles is just a genuine MMC with the biggest heart. His journey and silent battle he’s been dealing with his whole life - cries. It’s like Emily Henry put such relatable characters in this book and doesn’t make me feel so alone. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book and has made my year. Thank you @emilyhenrywrites for this masterpiece. Duch Gór go ostrzega przed grzebieniem w przeszłości. A może właśnie grozi? To próbuje ustalić Maksymilian.

All I need is a wholesome slowburn with endearing characters. The slow build up of Lola and TJ’s relationship was wonderful and authentic and the book was entertaining and well paced. I was engaged with this story from start to finish loving the romantic relationship between the two leads and the relationship they built whilst navigating the co parenting of their (adorable) son Phoenix. Tj fell first and hard and I love to see it. Seeing him not only fall in love with Lola but with his son was heartwarming, the little things he did to make lola’s life easier and the way he loved her was just 🤌🏻💗 His growth throughout the book was admirable. The way he’d express his feelings for Lola melted my heart. He has a way with words when it comes to his Peaches. Gosh! Was that boy in love.🧡 I loved watching Lola grow in confidence as her own person after suffering rejection from her family & also watching her navigate being an amazing mother to Phoenix. Phoenix is an utterly adorable and cute kid. I wanted to lift him out of the book and smother him with affection.😩 ALSO, I loved the whole friendship dynamic & am (im)patiently waiting for the other books! E. Salvador did a commendable job writing this beautiful story, and her writing style is so brilliant that you won’t believe this book is her debut. I highly recommend you all to read it quickly and stay tuned for future releases because this journey is going to be spectacular from here on.💘 . . . . . 💫💫💫💫 4/5 Hear me out!! I didn’t have much expectations for this book after reading Twisted love, but this book was amazing!! This book is basically divided into two parts. One for the past and one for the present. I loved the past part cause it’s full of fluff and tension. You can say they like each other BUT he is her bodyguard. The second half of the book had more angst and “I want you, but I can’t have you” plot and I loved it. I loved the characters especially Bridget, she is just smart, wise, beautiful and lovely. #twistedseries #twistedgames #twistedlove #books #bookreview #rhysbridget #reading

A hue of blue💙 Today, I choose me. Tomorrow, I choose me.

N+129 . . #Bookreview: i have been going through another slump, this time brought on by lots happening in life. And so when i found this manga stories edition of this author’s short stories, i grabbed it at lightening speed (figuratively of course). Its a quick read and a good read. The collection has four of the author’s short stories ans like his novels, they have surrealism of their own. Enjoyed it and will read it again soon to understand it more. I recommend it for if you are undergoing a slump or if you want someone to read this author and have till now been unsuccessful in convincing them, this would help. .   . . #newbook #harukimurakami #shortstories #mangastories #quickread #goodread #getoverreadingslump #readingslump #unstuck #graphicnovel #japan

4⭐️ 2🌶️ I have loved this series so much since the first book, and I’m so sad it’s now ending! Oliver and Meadow are childhood friends turned lovers who had plans to move across the world to follow their dreams. Except Meadow never got on the plane. 17 years later, Ollie returns home to run the family business. Cue all the angst and tension😭 Like all the men in this series, Ollie is completely enamored with his girl, and goes above and beyond to take care of her and make up for lost time. They way that grief and anxiety is represented in this book is so delicate and beautiful and makes you feel all the feels. It was such a good way to wrap up this series. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you Kels and Denise for this series and this ARC! ✨ Book review (ARC received) ✨ See Goodreads for full review (link in profile) Format: 📱 eBook 📱 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️ This book ticked a lot of boxes for me - slightly forbidden romance, secret romance, brother's best friend, the "I'll teach/help you" ploy. Ugh, it had it all, and Sylvis delivered with her product. And what made this book even more special was the chronic illness rep present. She had my attention from the start with that one, and I loved how it played an integral part of the narrative, and wasn't just a throw-away diagnosis. Taytum is an FMC I can honestly really understand, having worked with teens with chronic illnesses for a long time. The strength she shows - and the growth she goes through - is something amazing to read, even if it takes her a while to realise what she has to do. And having Ford by her side, teaching her and showing her that he is always there for her? Swoon. Ford. Oh, where to start with this one. He's hot. He's determined. He's got a good sense of humour to him, which has you smiling as you read. He's hung up on his best friend's little sister, and doesn't even realise it. And he's got the mouth to go with the bedroom moves. I love that deep down, all he wants to do is care for Tay. To look after her in any way he can. The constant will they, won't they between Tay and Ford was fun to read whilst Ford was delivering his dating lessons, and I genuinely had a "finally" moment when the two basically said "f it" to the rules they'd put in place. This is definitely the epitome of slow burn, despite our MC's knowing each other for multiple years before this narrative takes place.
