Carica ieri della polizia contro un corteo di circa 250 manifestanti che si erano radunati a Roma per dirigersi verso l’Auditorium della Conciliazione dov’era in corso la seconda giornata della quarta edizione degli Stati Generali della natalità. Erano studenti universitari e delle scuole superiori. 5 feriti tra cui una venticinquenne e una ragazza di 15 anni. Uno scontro ancora una volta violento che poteva essere evitato se il governo non avesse scelto la linea della repressione anche fisica delle contestazioni. Per Maurizio Gasparri “è la feccia della nostra società”. Al di là di questi toni offensivi la sostanza è la messa in atto di un progetto politico che mira a liquidare le opposizioni e a tenere sotto controllo con durezza i movimenti giovanili nel nostro paese. In causa non è la ministra Roccella, ma il governo che vuole mettere a tacere chi la pensa diversamente in qualsiasi modo, dalla censura in Rai ai pestaggi. I've taken a break from social media lately to focus on painting for my upcoming solo exhibition, "Twisted Bodies Tell Their Tales," scheduled for October 16th at @mossensongalleries as part of IOTA 24. I'm thrilled to receive support from the @deptlgsc grant. Crafting grant proposals is always challenging, and I'm fortunate to have Dr. Diane Mossenson guided me through the process. As both Singapore, my birthplace, and Australia, my adopted home, share colonial histories, I plan to explore these themes in my artwork. Utilising xuan paper and adopting zhizha as a technique, I'm exploring the traditional craft into contemporary form. For my Singaporean friends, the subject matter may feel familiar. There's been extensive research on figures like Stamford Raffles, revealing him to be far from the hero we once believed him to be. Seeing @silentstudio David Chan's interpretation at Art Sg, I mentioned to him how he inspired me to reevaluate Raffles. La vicenda del Prof. @antonioscurati (che ho avuto anche come docente all’Università) mi rattrista e indigna profondamente. Mi mette di fronte al fatto che davvero c’è poco da star tranquilli se esiste ancora la possibilità di essere censurati. Eppure qualcuno ci aveva pensato, i padri e le madri costituenti che dopo quanto vissuto, non dimenticarono di inserire nella nostra preziosa Costituzione l’Art.21. Credo sia doveroso e necessario esprimere il proprio dissenso verso quanto accaduto perché la questione non è solo politica, c’è in ballo molto, molto di più.
