Pillars of Heracles by @apeirongames takes us back in time, in Ancient Greece, where city-states compete with each other in order to rewrite history and earn glory! Gameplay Overview In Pillars of Heracles players take on the roles of city-state leaders in ancient Greece. The goal is to create the most glorious city and there are many ways to achieve that. Each city starts small but can expand by exploring and settling other areas, deploying and commanding units, constructing buildings and monuments, recruiting the right people and acquiring various upgrades. Glory is earned through monuments, territory control and completing prophecies. The leader of the city-state with the most glory at the end of the game is the winner. The game simulates all of the above through various game mechanisms. There is a rondel for taking various actions during the game. The people that make up each city-state are represented by cards and each player starts with the same deck of ten cards but can improve that by acquiring more cards so there is a deck building element there. There is some exploring and of course the units will be moving around the map. Area control is important throughout the game and even though there is no combat in the standard version of the game, you can play the skirmish mode if you’d prefer direct confrontation. The upgrades are represented by advancing on tracks by spending resources and you can also spend resources to construct buildings and deploy new units. Lastly, there is some asymmetry in the player abilities through the city-state tiles. The game has no set amount of rounds. Players keep taking turns in clockwise order until the end game is triggered. After that, the current round finishes and one more is played before proceeding to scoring. Each player turn consists of 2 phases: 1. The Status Check phase. This is mostly a check for area control in certain regions in order to gain benefits. (Part 2 in the comments)

🇳🇱 🇧🇪 In 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐬 van @hig_games maken we elk onze botanische tuin om indruk te maken op onze bezoekers. Bij de start van het spel krijgen we elke ons eigen tuinbord. Daar plaatsen we onze tuinman op, op het startveld. Naast de startobjectieven per rij mogen we ook de geavanceerde objectieven plaatsen. Deze objectieven gaan over het verkrijgen van bepaalde combinaties bloemen in die rijen. De spelersvolgorde wordt bepaalt door wie bovenaan staat in de kolom op het actie selectiebord. Als je aan de beurt bent, mag je eerst je tuinman verplaatsen, maar dit kost je munten. Je mag ook 1 kaart uitspelen voor zijn voordeel. Kaarten kan je gedurende het spel op verschillende plaatsen verdienen. Daarna neem je je actiesteen, in de vorm van een bloemfiche, en verplaatst je die naar de volgende kolom, naar de gewenste actie. Hoe hoger in de kolom je gekozen actie staat, hoe minder krachtig. Maar dan heb je wel meer kans om de volgende ronde eerder aan de beurt te zijn. Sommige kolommen heb maar 1 actie, andere 2. Bij een kolom met 2 acties zet je je fiche op de niet gedrukte actie. Want als iemand nadien dezelfde actie wil doen, kan die dit door 3 munten te betalen en bovenop je fiche te komen liggen. Maar de niet gedrukte actie is dan niet zichtbaar en wordt dan ook niet uit gevoerd. Voorbeelden van acties zijn bvb: bloemen plaatsten. Bloemen plaats je altijd aangrenzend aan je tuinman en komen in 4 niveaus. Met de gieter kan je bloemen laten groeien, van niveau laten stijgen. Je kan ook vooruit op het muntenspoor, kruiwagenspoor en plantspoor om voordelen te krijgen. Kom je op het einde van het zonspoor dan krijg je bonuspunten en ga je terug naar het begin. Ook kan je munten krijgen en je tuinman verplaatsen. Heb je tegen het einde van het spel een volledige kolom met bloemen dan zal je ook nog bonuspunten scoren. Na 2 keer het volledige actiespoor te hebben afgelopen, krijgen we nog elk een stap op een van de 3 sporen en tellen we de punten. Wie maakt de mooiste tuin? Naše Slunce se teď rychle chýlí ke konci svého životního cyklu. Jeho osudem - jako u všech hvězd téhle kategorie - je přerod v červeného obra. Výsledkem bude exponenciální nárůst objemu, který způsobí, že Slunce pohltí Merkur, Venuši a dost možná i samotnou Zemi. Welche Messe besucht ihr als Nächstes❓️ Which trade fair will you be visiting next❓️ 🇬🇧 (In the comments) 🇩🇪 Es ist wieder Messezeit, obwohl sie für mich schon im Kleinen in Ratingen begonnen hatte. Ich habe mich schon sehr auf die SpielDoch in Dortmund (@spieldoch_messen) gefreut. Ich konnte hier am Freitag und Samstag wieder viele nette Menschen aus der Community und von Verlagen treffen und eine super Zeit vor Ort verbringen. Zu meinen Highlights gehört auf jeden Fall das Treffen mit der Community, mit der man super Gespräche, witzige Reels und spannende Spiele spielen konnte. Dazu zählen auch die lustigen Partien "Anarchy Pancakes" bei @asmodee_germany. Aber natürlich konnte ich auch weitere tolle Spiele testen. Wie auf jeder Messe gehört es auf jeden Fall dazu, einmal an die Skitterbretter (@play.skitter) zu gehen und eine Runde zu spielen. Auch die erste Partie Knee Deep in Hexes bei @till5am_games bleibt mir sehr gut im Gedächtnis. Hier noch einmal Danke an meinen Mitspieler (Felix) für die coole und lustige Partie und auch für die gute Erklärung von Thomas. Leider konnte ich das neue Spiel Quarz nicht mehr antesten. Ein weiteres Highlight war für mich auch der Besuch bei @magnificum_net, um wie immer schöne und lustige Gespräche zu führen und uns die Kriminalfälle genauer erklären zu lassen. Macht immer wieder Spaß mit euch (@sandra_magnificum). Ich konnte auch noch Flowers von @lookout_games testen und ein wenig über kommende Erweiterungen eines meiner Lieblingsspiele erfahren. Weitere Spiele, die ich spielen konnte, waren Ritual von @strohmanngames und das neue Spiel vom @spieldasverlag "Monster on the Moon". Erklärt wurde mir unter anderem Rebel Princess von @wonderbowgames, Eternitium von @ornamentgames und ich hatte ein Gespräch mit DLP bezüglich der neuen limitierten Orleans Box 🤩. Nach der Messe war noch ein weiteres Highlight für mich, und zwar das Netzwerktreffen, das von @diehausis organisiert wurde. Vielen Dank für die Einladung! Ich hoffe, ich konnte euch einen kleinen Eindruck über meine zwei Tage auf der Messe geben. Noch mal ein großes Lob und Dankeschön an die Organisatoren der SpielDoch für diese schöne Messe. 🐺

There are 44 randomly generated maps in this little book for you to play through. Meaning each version of this game is unique! It's #twoplayertuesday #twosday🎲 #twosday and this week we have been playing the brilliant TRIBES OF THE WIND by @hachetteboardgamesuk @laboitedejeu ❤️❤️ Not only is the artwork Dutrait-beautiful, but the gameplay is brilliant, and works perfectly at 2P! Essentially you are a Wind Tribe, and it is your job to clear up pollution and build a new world. Each turn you can either play an elemental card to activate its effect(s), place a temple for a bonus action, plant a forest, or build a village. Some actions - like building a village requires you to have done some prep work - clearing pollution from the target location and moving sufficient Wind Riders to the forest tile you're converting. But the personal building scoring objectives, and the end game points are worth the programming, and no action ever feels unachievable - timing becomes key in a really fun, thinky way! There are also asymmetric multi-use bonuses which are triggered when you lay a specific combination of coloured tiles on your board in a given order. What is so cool is that the elemental cards trigger depending on how many of the specific type you have compared to your opponents. And at 2P, the cards in the offer row and top deck card act as the 3rd player. Hyde, poursuivis sans relâche par Scotland Yard dans les rues brumeuses, sales, insécures et... j'arrête...de Londres. Comme tout bon jeu de cartes qui se respecte, la victoire dépend de votre capacité à remporter un nombre précis de plis. . ➡️ Les règles sont simples : partagez les rôles, distribuez les cartes entre les joueurs. Chaque joueur doit ensuite donner 4 cartes pour former la "main" de Scotland Yard (le troisième joueur. Enfin non, mais si, bref.). Ce petit twist vient des potions, qui alliées aux différentes couleurs des cartes proposent différents effets : changer la couleur de l'atout, reprendre un pli gagné par Scoltland Yard etc. . ➡️ La coopération entre joueurs ajoute une dimension nouvelle, et le chapitrage rend chaque partie immersive en proposant une bonne dose de défis (remporter exactement 4 plis etc.). . ➡️ Le bilan de nos quelques 14 parties jouées à ce jour est très positif. Ce qui fait tout pour moi est le principe de la coop et le chapitrage (10 chapitres apportant leur introduction narrative) qui apporte de réels défis assez corsés. On se prend facilement au jeu de la course poursuite contre Scotland Yard et la rapidité des tours conforte cette dynamique. We explored more Distant Skies. We now have 2/5 totems and we’ve successfully battled through 2 more enemy encounters. We flew out to a discovered location and back again to the main map but I failed a riddle rock puzzle, suggesting one answer made complete sense (wrong) whereas Emma’s suggestion was correct. Didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I do but Emma is very much in her element here! 7th Citadel: Initial Impressions Long story short, I’m really enjoying 7th Citadel! Great quality of life improvements. Here are a few of my thoughts about half way through the first story book. +Bite Sized Scenarios: the first several scenarios have pushed me to explore the general cardinal directions and usually play in about an hour. I don’t feel the overwhelming sense of directionlessness I had in some 7th Continent curses. +Items and Combat: items no longer have finite uses but mainly have a chance to break. Combat is a fun mini game that I actually enjoy and can mitigate damage from. +Town and Upgrades: your performance in a scenario allows you to upgrade your base and character. It’s nothing too complex but I like seeing the progression. +/- Health: The numeric health value you allows you the opportunity to push your luck as you can spend health to refresh your deck. At the same time this number feels like a timer. The closer you get to zero the more likely you are fail to return. -Scale: maybe it is just the scenarios I’ve played so far, but I feel funneled to explore only a certain direction and pursue the scenario goals. I haven’t hit that sense of awe at seeing the map unfurl on the table before me. So there you have it. How does 7th Citadel match up to 7th Continent? Room for both in a collection? Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is just awe-inspiring! Back in 2022, we set off on an adventure to Disneyland to check it out. Walking into the area is almost otherworldly, and I was immediately taken back to my childhood, imagining that I was Luke Skywalker wielding his lightsaber against the Empire. In reality, it was my scrawny little self swinging a stick in the backyard making lightsaber noises. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing when I turned the corner and saw the Millennium Falcon right in front of me. Star Wars had always been a part of my life, and seeing it all right there in front of me was more emotional than I thought it would be. And it’s the little details that only fans would see and remember. From Oga’s Cantina to Savi’s Workshop… Dok-Ondar’s to Rise of the Resistance… you really felt like you were on Batuu, with stormtroopers on the patrol and Rey and Chewbacca making the rounds. We had to go back at night just to see all of the scenery lit up, walking around, soaking it all in. I’m so ready to be back #disneyland #galaxysedge

The cards aren't coloured by default, so players would self-determine the colour suit each cycle - one could thus lie there's no more cards of the winning colour but you risk getting caught on your lie if you trigger a "paradox" 2. each number of the four colours can only be called out once (there are markers to indicate what has already been called out) so one may not have the right cards towards the end of the round for the remaining numbers/colours to be called 3. There's a prediction bit on how many sets each player would win for that round and if you predict correctly, you get bonus points for the longest 'chain' of cards you played. There are 36 different enemy fighter models included in the game. There are three copies of each model. (If more than three of the same model attack, either roll for a new model or use one or more of the other cards included to represent the remaining number. The maximum number of fighters can be six when using the advanced rules. I could include six copies if each model, but that would increase the number of fighter cards by 36x 3.) A counter marks a change in armament for three 109 versions, and if the 262 has rockets another counter is used for those. Among these 36 fighter models are "what-if" models too. Starship Interstellar di Davide Calze e Andrea Crespi. Progetto Kickstarter che doveva vedere la luce l'anno scorso invece ha subito, come spesso capita, un ritardo e in questo caso di circa un anno. Trama: il sole sta diventando una nana rossa e dobbiamo trovare risorse per costruire un'astronave per salvare l'umanità prima che la terra venga inglobata. Il gioco si compone di 2 macro fasi dove nella prima si fanno azioni atte a prendere risorse, carburante, viaggiare e studiare tecnologie. Tutto quello che raccogliamo possiamo spenderlo nella seconda fase dove cercheremo di salvare persone, costruire i vari pezzi dell'astronave o tracciare la rotta... Tutte queste azioni danni più o meno punti. Finita questa seconda fase c'è la facendo reset finché morte non ci separi: nel caso il sole esploda si contano i punti altrimenti dobbiamo aspettare che 2 condizioni di fine partita si verifichino. Note positive: No. Note negative: partiamo dalla plancia. È inutilmente gigantesca. C'è tutto il sistema solare grandezza 1:1 e questa occupa il 75% del tabellone. Inutile perché il gioco dura circa 3/4 turni e sti pianeti non hanno tutto sto tempo per fare tutto il giro. I pianeti sono bucati perché la prima fase del progetto prevedeva che le astronavi fossero davvero agganciate al pianeta ma poi hanno cambiato ma i pianeti sono rimasti bucati. Le risorse vengono tenute nascoste ma non dietro allo schermo che sarebbe molto comodo ma bensì in una scatola poco accessibile. La parte della rotta da tracciare è fatta di piccole tessere così come la parte dell'astronave. Manca il secondo tracciato dell'ordine di turno così quando passi ti metti già nella posizione per il turno successivo. Questa è solo la parte estetica. Passiamo al gioco vero e proprio: la parte di esplorazione spaziale, nonostante ha un 75% di tabellone, è debole, la puoi fare una, max 2 volte per turno... E nonostante tutto le risorse alla fine avanzano: abbiamo salvato tutta l'umanità, costruito tutta l'astronave e tracciato quasi tutte le rotte ed è avanzata roba. Le tecnologie sono mal gestite. Mind MGMT is a crazy hidden movement game from @offthepagegames !! We managed to grab one of the few deluxe copies they had at Gen Con right after the first print run delivered! Jake also got to meet the artist for the game and got an original drawing done on the bottom of the box top. Mind MGMT is a game based on a comic series of the same name. In this game, one person is playing the role of the corrupt organization of Mind MGMT, trying to recruit new psychic agents to carry out their agenda. The rest of the players are rogue agents using their own psychic powers to put a stop to their former employer. The rogue agents will be hunting the Mind MGMT recruiter around the game board by asking questions and using dry-erase mental note tokens to track their movements. They win if they are able to track the recruiters' location and capture them by being in the same space. The recruiter has a small dry erase map they keep behind a player shield to map their path as they secretly move around the board. If a player is ever on a location they were in and ask if they were ever there, the recruiter has to say how many turns ago they were. The recruiter wins if they are able to recruit 12 psychics or survive 16 turns without being caught. Each side has a few tools that help them along the way. The more you play, the more abilities you unlock. We have only played this game at 2 players, but we would love to play it at higher player counts! The cat and mouse game becomes really intense as the rogue agents hone in on the recruiter. The tension is really high being the recruiter as you try to slip away as quickly as you can. If you haven't played this one, we highly recommend you track it down if you're into hidden movement games!!
