Cette édition est de toute beauté ! 🤩 Dans ce jeu on va devoir à son tour choisir une tuile à la manière de Kingdomino en quelque sorte. Puis on la placera dans notre fief. On pourra alors activer le pouvoir de cette tuile et de son emplacement qui sera bonifié, si vous en avez déjà d’autres du même type! Vois allez donc essayer de les collectionner ! Mais il faudra tout de même se diversifier un minimum car à la fin de la partie, on perdra de points pour les catégories qu’on ne possède pas! Les pouvoirs des tuiles vous feront la plus part du temps gagner de l’argent! 💵 C’est celui qui en a le plus à la fin de la partie qui gagne ! Mais certains pouvoirs sont là aussi pour en voler à vos adversaires voire même leur supprimer des tuiles! Il va donc falloir trouver le juste milieu entre amasser de l’argent et essayer de ralentir vos adversaires ! Les tours s´enchainent vite, la manipulation des tuiles est super agréable! Au cours de la partie pour allez pouvoir améliorer vos différentes zones et ainsi engranger de plus en plus de sous lors de leur activation! C’est une montée en puissance très satisfaisante ! 😁 Pour ce type de jeu, c’est plus sympa (voire rageant 😈 ) d’y jouer à minimum 3. J’ai trouvé moins d’intérêt à 2 joueurs. Avec son design tout en douceur et ses belles couleurs, ce jeu nous invite dans une mécanique de jeu de placement de tuiles où vous devrez faire cohabiter différentes espèces d'animaux et les aider à faire les meilleures provisions pour l'hiver. Hyde, poursuivis sans relâche par Scotland Yard dans les rues brumeuses, sales, insécures et... j'arrête...de Londres. Comme tout bon jeu de cartes qui se respecte, la victoire dépend de votre capacité à remporter un nombre précis de plis. . ➡️ Les règles sont simples : partagez les rôles, distribuez les cartes entre les joueurs. Ce petit twist vient des potions, qui alliées aux différentes couleurs des cartes proposent différents effets : changer la couleur de l'atout, reprendre un pli gagné par Scoltland Yard etc. . ➡️ La coopération entre joueurs ajoute une dimension nouvelle, et le chapitrage rend chaque partie immersive en proposant une bonne dose de défis (remporter exactement 4 plis etc.). . ➡️ Le bilan de nos quelques 14 parties jouées à ce jour est très positif. Ce qui fait tout pour moi est le principe de la coop et le chapitrage (10 chapitres apportant leur introduction narrative) qui apporte de réels défis assez corsés. On se prend facilement au jeu de la course poursuite contre Scotland Yard et la rapidité des tours conforte cette dynamique. We explored more Distant Skies. We now have 2/5 totems and we’ve successfully battled through 2 more enemy encounters. We flew out to a discovered location and back again to the main map but I failed a riddle rock puzzle, suggesting one answer made complete sense (wrong) whereas Emma’s suggestion was correct. Didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I do but Emma is very much in her element here! 7th Citadel: Initial Impressions Long story short, I’m really enjoying 7th Citadel! Great quality of life improvements. Here are a few of my thoughts about half way through the first story book. +Bite Sized Scenarios: the first several scenarios have pushed me to explore the general cardinal directions and usually play in about an hour. I don’t feel the overwhelming sense of directionlessness I had in some 7th Continent curses. +Items and Combat: items no longer have finite uses but mainly have a chance to break. Combat is a fun mini game that I actually enjoy and can mitigate damage from. +Town and Upgrades: your performance in a scenario allows you to upgrade your base and character. It’s nothing too complex but I like seeing the progression. +/- Health: The numeric health value you allows you the opportunity to push your luck as you can spend health to refresh your deck. At the same time this number feels like a timer. The closer you get to zero the more likely you are fail to return. -Scale: maybe it is just the scenarios I’ve played so far, but I feel funneled to explore only a certain direction and pursue the scenario goals. I haven’t hit that sense of awe at seeing the map unfurl on the table before me. So there you have it. How does 7th Citadel match up to 7th Continent? Room for both in a collection? Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is just awe-inspiring! Back in 2022, we set off on an adventure to Disneyland to check it out. Walking into the area is almost otherworldly, and I was immediately taken back to my childhood, imagining that I was Luke Skywalker wielding his lightsaber against the Empire. In reality, it was my scrawny little self swinging a stick in the backyard making lightsaber noises. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing when I turned the corner and saw the Millennium Falcon right in front of me. Star Wars had always been a part of my life, and seeing it all right there in front of me was more emotional than I thought it would be. And it’s the little details that only fans would see and remember. From Oga’s Cantina to Savi’s Workshop… Dok-Ondar’s to Rise of the Resistance… you really felt like you were on Batuu, with stormtroopers on the patrol and Rey and Chewbacca making the rounds. We had to go back at night just to see all of the scenery lit up, walking around, soaking it all in. I’m so ready to be back #disneyland #galaxysedge

It's witchcraft...wicked witchcraft, but there's nothing taboo about this. We tried the Shapeshifters / Omens module in our latest game of Septima by @mindclash_games tonight, which adds another layer to the game. The ruleset is pretty straightforward, but it opens up the decision-making. No longer do you get your discarded cards back at the end of the rlseason, you have to play Shapeshift (replaces Chant) to turn into one of your two asymmetric animals that have abilities and a limited set of 4 actions that you can no play but every card you don't match now reduces your suspicion. Taking a look at the setup for Age of Rome from @teetotumgamestudios Players seek to become Rome’s new emperor by building up provinces and balancing war, politics, trade and religion. There is an area control element that plays out on the board that rotates “lazy Susan-style.” It doesn’t look terribly complex and I’m excited to jump in. Just getting a look at the components at this point. I had to get a glimpse at Age of Rome since I’m pretty excited about the publisher’s next Kickstarter called Restart and it was great to see the quality they bring to the table. Restart is a time travel adventure where players work to fix various problems in the world. As we know with time travel, every action has a reaction and Restart seems to breed unexpected circumstances. Updates to the game room!!! So, I’ve been meaning to get into the game room and get it in shape to do another walkthrough… and I managed to snap a couple of pics in the process. The biggest changes are more storage (duh!) for more games, as well as some different signs here and there. I hung up my 7 foot map of middle earth above the stairs which turned out great! There are two gaming tables… the big one for D&D and other big games, and a smaller one for card games and more general use. While the big table is nice, it’s tough to play games without everyone having to stand up and reach across the table. So the little octagon table is amazing to have. 10 chairs to mix and match between the two as well as a loveseat for lounging in between sessions. This truly is my happy place. And I’m so blessed and humbled to be able to have a game room. For the longest time, the games were relegated to the hall closet and we played on the dining room table… so having a dedicated gaming space is truly a dream come true!

Had a wonderful medieval weekend, spending time at Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre and playing a couple of thematic games - Flamecraft and Pillars of the Earth! It was very exciting to see some jousting and battles played out in the arena, and hear some fantastic medieval music played live in the Abbot's Kitchen. Me and Jay from @bucketlistboardgamers got together online this evening to have a test play of Roll A Coaster Psrk from @microdotgames who have a Kickstarter launching in May As with most things, I didn't instinctively feel clear having read the rules but as soon as we started playing it all clicked. I got some Cat Cafe style vibes from this - roll two dice, use one number to pick a "thing" to build and the other number tells you the shape or properties of that thing. The complexity comes from having to use some turns to build paths for your stalls and attractions to be adjacent to, and you can skip building entirely and use your dice to attract guests for one of your 3 types of funfair ride, earning you money as well as bonuses if you have their preferred type of stalls. There's quite a bit to keep track of and I messed up a few times early on by not clocking everything, but it fell into place quickly. I think it'd feel visually a little easier if you could use coloured pencils on a white background to mark out what you were building. I, of course, thought laminating a sheet would be easier, so part of that is on me 🤦♂️ Overall I enjoyed it, though I did not enjoy being beaten by Jay. For about a fiver as a print n play I don't think you'd go too far wrong if you like roll and write games. As I said, reminded me of Cat Cafe but with more to make you pause for thought and consider your strategy a little more. Fairly sure the @microdotgames page will have KS details as well. Game #228 on my quest to play '500 Games in 1 Year' was BOOP by @smirkanddagger This is a superb head to head abstract strategy game in which you play as a team of cats and kittens competing for space on a quilt. The object is to get three kittens in a row to unlock a cat, then get 3 cats in a row to win the game! But all is not so simple....everytime a kitten comes onto the quilt it 'boops' or moves kittens nearby creating havoc! This is a fun, quick playing and well themed abstract strategy game that is fun for all ages. We had a lot of fun with Stonespine Archetects. Our first play dungeons had like no paths to connect to the entrances or the exits, BUT WE CRUSHED OUR BLUEPRINTS. The draft and pass mechanic reminded us of Its A Wonderful World, and anything in the Roll Player world feels like home. This will absolutely make it to the table more often, and I’m itching for some Cartographers now. Is there a particular game mechanic that really draws you in? Or even a theme? Colt Express Yeeeeeehaa! Today is a game that holds a special place in my heart as it was probably one of the first that I used specific music to enhance the game play. So with that being said, you must playing try this game with a Western Soundtrack. Colt Express by @asmodeeuk is a 2-6 player game for ages 10+ and plays in around 40 minutes. Each player takes on the role of a bandit attempting to steal the most amount of loot before the train rolls into the station. Using a hand of cards, players will move about the train, go up onto the roof, shoot at and punch other bandits, steal loot, or move the Marshall. Sometimes cards are played face up, however if there is a tunnel the card is played face down and this is where things get interesting because as assumptions are made on of either someone else’s or your own location. Once all the cards are played, then the action sequence starts as all the players see how the events turned out. Many a time have bandits punched thin air or shot at nothing, or found that there is nothing left to steal! Whenever a bandit is punched, they drop an item of their choice so nothing is safe. Each bandit character has a unique ability that adds to the fun. In the photos there is also the Horses and Stagecoach expansion which add in the chance to take a hostage and race beside the train on horses. The final picture is ‘ The Time Travel Car’ expansion (we all know what that is)… this adds in a time travel element where if you can reach the car and be alone at the end of a round, you can go to any other part of the train or stagecoach and appear there after the next planning phases! I cannot recommend this game highly enough. Hey everybody, we've been moving and haven't been able to play games for the past month (I also got real into Star Wars Unlimited, which rules and has taken up alot of my board game energy). But we finally got around to playing a game I've been interested in for a while! Knarr Build up a crew of vikings, getting increasingly more rewards as you go. Pues siguiendo siempre el orden ascendente de las cartas!!! ❗️ Para las primeras partidas, o para jugar con los peques, podemos usar solo las cartas fijándonos en los números. Las cartas van del número 2 al 46. ‼️El número 1 es la carta inicial de cada jugador. ⭐️Si le queremos dar más chicha al juego.....es cuando introducimos también las figuras e imágenes de las cartas. En ellas, a parte de los números pueden aparecer: 👑 Reina/ Rey: +3 puntos al final del juego. 🤴Príncipe/ Princesa: +1 punto por cada uno al final de la partida. Si además, se tiene una pareja, se consigue un punto extra más . 🐦 Cuervos: +1 punto extra por cada cuervo representado en la carta. ⚜️Cañones: Cuando se coloca un cañón en la muralla, se activa su efecto de manera inmediata. Monstervania es la nueva propuesta de @silvestre.pastor autor de Aventura Z. Un juego editado por @zacatrus que traslada a mesa los clásicos videojuegos de plataformas. Monstervania es un juego cooperativo, en solitario o para 2 jugadores, en el que ayudaremos a Marta y a Lucas, los protagonistas a encontrar a su padre, secuestrado por un mago Oscuro. Estamos ante un juego de campaña, con toques narrativos, en el que cada escenario nos propone un desafío en el que tendremos que alcanzar la salida del mapa a la vez que vencemos enemigos, y obtenemos mejoras que nos ayuden a enfrentarnos a futuros escenarios. Para comenzar un escenario sólo tenemos que abrir el libro rojo de escenario por las páginas adecuadas y encontraremos todo lo necesario para jugar: enemigos, objetos, diferentes salidas que nos llevarán a otros escenarios... Generalmente sólo tendremos que atravesar el mapa, pero también encontramos escenarios de los que no podremos salir si no acabamos antes con el Jefe y los enemigos, escenarios a contrarreloj... El sistema de juego es bastante sencillo. Simplemente escogeremos tantas acciones de las disponibles como puntos de acción tengamos, después será el turno de los enemigos cuyo comportamiento será determinado por un dado. A medida que avancemos mejoraremos las acciones disponibles y la cantidad de veces que actuamos antes que los monstruos, por lo que habrá escenarios que nos resultarán imposible pasar si no hemos obtenido antes ciertas habilidades. En definitiva Monstervania es un juego sencillo pero que nos propone una buena cantidad de retos que nos harán estrujarnos bien el coco. You can see in each triangular shaped piece are three different logos which connect the famous people and the first person able to get rid of thier hand wins. The mechanics are simple meanings it's a fun family game and any kids aged around 4+ will be able yo play no problem. Each card also contains beautiful illustrations of these icons as well a little fact a out them and the flag of thier nationality. This ties in with the games educational purpose as you will be able to introduce younger players to historical figures. Some additional and optional mechanics also encourage players to think about links between the two people in question. With some additional modes and the small compact size this is going to be a perfect game for taking around on travels and for quick games at home.
