Digging up some designs from the archives. We designed the artwork for this CD back in 2001. Vassar Clements began his career as a fiddler playing bluegrass with Bill Monroe in 1958. He proved to be such a versatile musician that during the next four decades he played honky-tonk with Faron Young, rock with the Grateful Dead, and jazz with Stephane Grappelli. As my new album project was unfolding this spring with lush production and gifted musicians, I realized I had left the artwork on the back burner a little too long. Nothing like some serious pressure and financial strain to get the job done. I decided in the 11th hour to take it on myself and with limited knowledge and skill, this is what I came up with. A 12 page booklet to accompany the CD with all the lyrics and loads of beautiful photos by Chelsea @cbrphotography So many tricks to great graphic design. Overexposed - Maroon 5 In this project, I aimed to create an innovative and unique design for Maroon 5’s “Overexposed” album. Inspired by the album’s title, I explored the concept of overexposure through the use of a vibrant color palette and striking shapes. The CD design seeks to represent visual overexposure through the overlapping of shapes and colors, creating a contrast between complex areas and simpler parts. I experimented with different color combinations and shapes to capture the essence of the album and convey its energy and style. The final result is a CD design that visually captures the essence of Maroon 5’s “Overexposed” album. 東京民謡倶楽部 民謡集初巻：東京民謡倶楽部の音源デザイン @tokyominyoclub 彼らの初音源となる「民謡集 初巻」のカバーデザインでは、東京民謡倶楽部が表現する民謡の多様性を表すように、さまざまなスタイルの文字で「東京民謡倶楽部」と表現し、六枚のカードにしました。 私たちが日常的に使っている日本語では漢字、カタカナ、ひらがな、そしてアルファベットが一つの文に混ざり合っており、彼らの音楽が持つ魅力的な雰囲気を表しました。 そして、それらのカードの裏面やマーチャンダイズでは動きのグラフィックを表現しています。 人々は仕事歌でもある民謡を唄いながら、生きるための作業から様々な動作を繰り返してきました。その動線を筆でなぞり起こした 愛でる、刈る、植える、引く、振る、潰す、掻く、掃く、割く の九つのグラフィックたちです。 民謡楽しくなってきてますよ。これは年齢なのか、時代なのか、環境なのか。個人的な関心以上に幅が増えているように感じてしまう。 古巣Behanceに上げて放置してた画像を良い機会なので再投稿。 #cddesign #民謡
