Held at The Hop 50+ Community Centre on Tuesday mornings, this Chair Ballet class is for ages 50+ and suitable for those wanting to improve fitness and well-being by learning ballet with the support of a chair. We start with some seated dancing and then progress to standing exercises using the chair as a barre - as always the class is tailored to suit YOU so there are options to remain seated for more/all of the exercises. One week ago, Barefoot Dance Company members helped me lead a BrainDance warm-up to residents of Woodland Pond at New Paltz. It was beautiful to see participants move their bodies with enthusiasm and grace. Company then performed five new works they created, which were personal and meaningful.
