Retour en image sur mon 1er PSO. Un weekend de folie, entourée de belles personnes. Avant tout, une aventure humaine puisque je suis passée par toutes les émotions et que j'y ai fait de chouettes rencontres ❤️. Concernant ma chorégraphie, j'ai fait tout ce qu'il ne fallait pas faire : arriver avec une moitié de chorégraphie car j'ai traversé un marathon personnel ces 6 derniers mois, que j'ai été sur tous les fronts professionnellement, encore blessée à l'épaule, j'ai improvisé sur scène... Bref. On repassera pour le sérieux ahaha. Je suis arrivée 4ème en m'amusant malgré tout. Je ne vais certainement pas me plaindre. Test réussi. About this week end…. I had a BLAST on stage at @polesportorg in Boston. I think the most fun I’ve ever had on a competition stage. The audience was bomb!!! What made it even more memorable was the crew I had with me. Our @acropark_cirqueandpole competitive team program is truly made special by the wonderful students we have. Congrats to @kaylamarie.s @polebae_tai @sdimitraki and @cloverchrome for their outstanding performances. You blew me away! Competing can be amazing, but the whole process can also be a bit soul crushing at times. You all handled it with such maturity, sportsmanship, and grace. I loved sharing the training process with all of you! Also, fun story - I’ve been training @cloverchrome since 2020 virtually and I met her for the first time this week end in person! Thank you guys for being part of the team and for trusting me as your coach! Competing is hard & Idk if I'm just not good at competing at this level (yet) or what, but (to be vulnerable) it's pretty demoralizing placing so poorly so many times in a row. Admittedly, this was def not my best run. And while I'm finally at a point where I don't beat myself up after an imperfect performance, it still kinda sucks, to put so much time and effort into something and have it not turn out like you want. Hit my flic flac, phoenix and spatchcock but then lost my spin and messed up my floor k (which I have NEVER done before since learning it 🙃). Just goes to show you never know what's going to happen onstage. I just want to not feel like a pole baby anymore!! 🥲 Lol. But this is a hobby. It's fun. It's creative. And it makes me feel happy and strong and takes me away from the stresses of my daily life. Plus, I can see my personal improvement from performance to performance and that's finally enough for me. Well, onto the next, whenever that may be. Considering the number of obstacles that came up between conception and execution of this routine, I am honestly just very proud to have made it to the stage 🎉 Thanks to everyone at @foxyfitnessandpole for everything and helping to constantly push me to the next level. And to all my fellow competitors and teammates for constantly inspiring me and giving me something to aspire towards. When I started at @divafitstudio I immediately fell in love with pole, what it stood for and the people it gave a voice to. This love of pole and the community eventually lead me to start my journey with @polesportorg , an organization that gives EVERYONE an opportunity to grow and celebrate their voice as a performer. . When I walked on a PSO stage the first time at APC, I was greeted with unconditional support and knew this was more than just a fun way to stay fit - it was an experience that nurtured the creative side I lost contact with alongside so many amazing people. . This weekend reminded me how lucky and thankful I am to have grown up with PoleSportOrg. I’ve been able to take this journey alongside friends and family and came out as a better person on and off the stage because of it. . I am still so honored, happy, thankful, and humbled by this past weekend. It was an honor to share the stage with all of the competitors and be surrounded by people who truly want want to see you succeed. . Time for the post comp, sappy thank you post. For a myriad of reasons I can't/won't share, this comp was a harder journey than my first in 2021. I'm back into the daily grind now, with just daily stress, anxiety. The comp level extreme mental/emotional/physical acrobatics feel like a lifetime ago. I'm sure there is some trauma attached to this, one of MANY reasons I won't be competing again anytime soon. I've got to figure a few things out, find some joy, spend some time with my family...because they put up with too much during the comp cycle and they deserve better. 1. Our run through tally box on the gym white board. I was not excited to put it up, only stressed. Someone else added some love for us. For me each tally represents 3:15 of intense pressure, expectation, fear. I did not feel prepared. 2. Meeting online friends in person was one of the highlights!! @awwbree312 3. I asked @oliv3juic3 to decorate bags for us, they turned out amazing! Pocket side says "Competitor" and our name 4. The other side says "Got my shit together (that's why this bag is so big). The bag colors match our costumes. 5. It takes an immense amount of dedication to get up at 4:45 am, do stage level hair and makeup, put on tiny costumes and GLUE them to your body, warm up as if you were at the gym doing a strenuous work out, BECAUSE YOU ARE, hold each other together emotionally (the glue can only do so much), step on stage in the bright lights, bare your soul dramatically in tricks that could seriously injure you, stay composed when it goes sideways, and bow with grace. These women did exactly that. It was a pleasure to get to know @carly_polson I don't think I've ever met a first time competitor so composed and calm. Maybe we call you Calm Carly from now on 😆. @tayloremalinepole we went through a lot for this, I can only guess how you felt when it was all over (because sometimes you don't talk about things lol). Thank you for not giving up, I hope someday you can look back and be proud of what you put on that stage (if you already are, GREAT!). FWIW I'M EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU.
