February 1st this year, I started a new discipline of gymnastics called T&T … and I love it!! I definitely miss artistic, but about 3 years ago I had a bad shoulder injury and wrist injury and it’s never recovered making skills in artistic that required a lot of wrist and shoulder strength and movement very hard and painful at times. This was a big part of me loosing my love for artistic, who wants to do things when you’re in constant pain! My mom and I talked a lot about what I should do, I asked for a “break” and she said yes, of course. I love to tumble and I love to flip so I’m trying T&T. This was my very first competition this weekend. I competed provincial level at Ortono challenge cup 3 so I could go to provincials next month. So far I am so happy, I love my coaches, my teammates and the environment! I wasnt even nervous (and for the last 6 years of WAG) there was never a competition where I wasn’t nervous! And my mom is happy because I’m happy and because I’m home every night for supper. I didn’t medal, but that’s ok! I only started 1.5 months ago and already competed at a provincial level AGF sanctioned event. My scores were really good but there were a lot of high scores! I know what I need to fix for provincials! I had SO much fun!!! My love and joy for gymnastics is back!!!
