🚨 Strategy Saturday 🚨 Save this post for your next Walt Disney World trip, or send it to a friend who is going with the kids and grandparents soon! This week I got a request for a strategy that would allow a multi-generational family (kids, parents, and grandparents) to have a fun and not-exhausting day in Magic Kingdom. The key was that they wanted every to have fun, to minimize wait times, and to not have to split up very often, if at all. I used post-visit surveys from @theunofficialguides readers and @touringplans users to find a balance of attractions that would appeal to everyone in the family, and then designed a plan to minimize wait times throughout the day. You won't find anything with a very tall height-restriction here. If your kid is 4 or 5, everyone should be able to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (if they want to). This strategy is also designed to minimize number of steps taken. You won't be traipsing back and forth across the park multiple times throughout the day, because that's hard on little and older legs. It also builds in plenty of time for sitting or standing still and mixes in those calmer periods with activity and attractions. It even focuses on meals and dining locations that are best experienced as a family. As always, all Strategy Saturday posts are designed to mix-and-match. You could spend a morning and afternoon in the Magic Kingdom, and then go back to the resort for some rest and an early night. Or pick up an evening strategy from EPCOT. And as always, you can request another strategy subject/topic/theme! Just drop a comment with the type of day you're hoping to plan!

“i swear maevy, potty training isn’t usually this difficult.” while we took TONS of pics during my two week trip, i needed to make a post just for miss maevis. i have so far watched her grow up both inside her mommas belly and outside from afar, but finally, i was able to meet her in all her absolutely horrible glory (she is two after all 🤣). those of you who know me, know i am not very “Pro” children. in fact, normally the complete opposite, but this little lady stole my heart (still 2nd place tho cause first will always go to my little cashew ☺️ @tripodn210). obviously she’s @missragamuffin’s baby so she’s automatically going to be better than most, but she’s already her own little person and thriving. despite the terrible twos, she still has a very special place in my heart and i’m just so glad i finally got to meet her 💛

This Foodie Friday is a full resort feature, where I'm recommending a spot to stay if you want lots of access to highly-rated dining options. Animal Kingdom Lodge is an all-around excellent resort choice. It's typically the least-expensive Deluxe resort (tied with Wilderness Lodge) and has plenty of cheap DVC rentals too. The theming is exquisite, and nothing beats having animals outside your room or the back porch of the resort. But even more impressive is the food. Especially from a table-service perspective, you can't beat the line-up at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Jiko, Sanaa, and Boma regularly rate in the top 10 restaurants at Walt Disney World. Even better, you can get quick service breakfast at Sanaa - one of the best options anywhere on property. Even the pool bars aren't slacking, with unique African beers (and other drinks), plus reliable food options. I often get asked why we go to Disney World so much. My answer is in these two photos. 🏰 👸🏻 Watching your little girl talk to a magic mirror and then be transformed into Rapunzel at the Magic Kingdom with the wave of a wand is not something you ever forget. You want to bottle up that magic and experience it again and again. To have that warm fuzzy and “this is why we do this” moment. Swipe to the second picture and look at that smile. That smile is only found when a Disney princess high on top of a parade float points right at her, waves, and says she loves her Mickey ears. Trust me I’ve tried to recreate that smile. But Disney is what brings it out of her. I know one day very soon she will stop wearing the princess dresses and skipping down Main Street holding my hand. She will be too cool to wave at the characters in the parade. She’s my one and only. The one shot I have to experience the magic through my child’s eyes. So yes. You can bet your bottom dollar we will go back again, and again, and again and make more magical memories. 🌟 Disney is special. It truly is where dreams come true and where the magic lives. So I will “live” there as many days as I can, soak it all up, and pray my little girl will hold on to it for just one more trip. Walt Disney World just announced the 2024 dates for their annual Food and Wine Festival: August 29-November 23! You better believe I’m already picking dates for our trip! This is my FAVORITE time of year to go to Disney World. The #FoodandWineFestival always features some of the best food and drinks from around the world at the World Showcase in Epcot and it’s to die for. Live music is everywhere you go, and the energy is unbeatable. Tons of fun for Disney adults, couples, families, and even the little guys! (Della has been twice and she’ll tell ya: it’s a hoot and a half!) Bonus! The festival always takes place during fall activities at the other parks, so if you plan it right you can squeeze in Halloween parties at Magic Kingdom (you literally get to go trick-or-treating in the park!) and take pictures with characters in their Halloween costumes! 🛟 AQUADUCK 💦 The AquaDuck is an exhilarating waterslide that takes riders on a wet and wild journey up, down, around and off the side of the ship, through the Forward Funnel—on a daredevil 4-deck drop. It was so freaking fun!!! Coming off the side of the ship and just seeing everything from above was so cool! 💦 Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take phones or cameras on the ride, but trust me when I say - it’s a must do! Emma’s cute custom suit was handmade by @arroseco_ 💙
