He's so excited by new people and places that sometimes he's like a bull in a china shop (an adoraBULL lol). He likes other dogs but is sometimes oblivious to their social cues....homes with or without other dogs will be considered. Appa was born with spina bifida which causes some incontinence issues. He wears a belly band in the house. He is mobile on his own and still and big, strong boy who enjoys exercise. A home with some special needs experience would be great, but all options will be considered as long as you're willing to learn and be understanding of his issues. He will benefit from continued training and structure, and an environment that isn't too stressful. He'll need to stay on a raw diet. Acupuncture and PT can be considered to help with his incontinence and overall spinal issues. Puzzle, the resilient pup, has been pieced back together. Her injury stemmed from trauma rather than a birth defect or illness - likely the result of a forceful blow to her face, fracturing her jaw. Fortunately, thanks to surgical intervention from Northeast Veterinary Hospital - NEVH, her jaw was repaired using wires and acrylic. The road to recovery is a long one and comes with its set of challenges. Puzzle must wear a cone and muzzle for the next six weeks which is going to be a difficult task for a young pup unaccustomed to such constraints. Understanding the cone or muzzle proves perplexing to her, adding a touch of frustration. Her meals require blending into a liquid form and she must navigate carefully to avoid bumping or shaking her healing jaw. Isolation is necessary alongside vigilant pain management. Through it all her spirit remains resilient, evidenced by her wagging tail and inclination for cuddles. The Northeast Veterinary Hospital - NEVH provided exceptional care, ensuring Puzzle received immediate medical attention. Despite being such a troublemaker, Sherlock was the best protector and friend I could have asked for and there will never be another like him. Thank you to all the friends and coworkers who always loved and cared for him as much as I did. I had planned to say goodbye to him Sunday morning at home, but he passed away on his own Saturday overnight. He had a great last day on Saturday. He went to class, had professional photos taken, had his friends say goodbye, we went to one of his favorite walking spots, followed by more goodbyes with friends and we just spent time together. At the end of the night when it was time to go to bed, I told him how much I loved him and how much he meant to me, I thanked him for being the best protector and friend. I also told him that if he needed to pass, it was ok and that he could. He was always so in tune with me, so smart, and one of a kind. Not that I wanted our time to end, but if there had to be an ending, this was the best way for it to happen (especially since he hates having his veins poked). No pet should spend their golden years feeling unloved, forgotten or afraid.
