Happy T👅T, my furiends 🥰! So we got the radiologist notes back yesterday from the vet. The bone crumbling mentioned in our previous post is consistent with his age, but they also noticed narrowing of two particular discs that is fairly significant, so they do recommend pursuing a neurology consult/MRI and a potential surgery. We are still weighing our options and taking it day by day at this point. In the meantime, he is eating and going outside as normal, and still loves a nice 💩 roll and a sunbath in the sunny grass. Grab your tissues...this is a sad one 😞 4-year-old Bailey, who was born with no eyes and is also deaf, was recently found with her beloved owner, who had passed away. Her owner's family didn't want her, so she now finds herself at Cumberland/Lincoln Animal Control, RI. She gets along marvelously on her leash, has lived with another dog, (a low-key dog may even be helpful to her in her new home) and she seems good with cats. Bailey was so loved by her owner and her world has suddenly been turned upside down. Despite being scared and lonely, she is still such a good, hopeful girl. Update on Lily 😰 She had MRI yesterday afternoon which showed a L1-L2 calcified disc with 50% spinal cord compression and a L2-L3 herniated disc with 75% spinal cord compression. The L2-L3 is freshest which is causing her back leg paralysis BUT she still has deep pain sensation… left leg better than right leg! Surgery took 2.5 hours or so, longer than expected…. L2-L3 was fresh about 1-2 weeks new, so it was easy to clean out and repair. However, L1-L2 was mineralized to the bone/calcified so it was much harder to clean out BUT he couldn’t leave it like that so he took care of that the best he could —- she may of had that for many years. She will stay in the hospital for a couple days where she can be monitored and receive IV pain medications. The bill is already at $10,310 😰😰😭😭 Please help share our posts! Sharing is a huge help! It opens others eyes to what’s going on and they may be apt to help! No amount is too small to donate! I am so sad. I don’t know why I bother reaching out to family…… I was told: “not to be morbid but maybe it’s time for Lily to be with Neville and Duke” 😭😭😭😭 I always make sure I’m there for others even if I’m hanging by a string 🥺😔😔😓😓

Happy 5.5 birthday to me! 🚗 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 • Oliver is scheduled for surgery this upcoming Wednesday in Oceanside. When we rescued Oliver, he was diagnosed with heartworm and couldn’t undergo surgery. Now that Oliver is heartworm-free, he can go under anesthesia with less risk. Unfortunately, Oliver has mast cell tumors that need to be removed and sent for a biopsy; he will also finally be neutered. Oliver will need to be picked up Wednesday morning around 8:30 / 8:45 AM and dropped off in Oceanside at the veterinarian hospital. Oliver will also need to be picked up after his surgery around 4:00 PM in Oceanside and brought back to us in Patchogue. Oliver is blind, but he is great on the leash and a happy boy regardless. Meet Marabelle ❤️ Marabelle is a gentle, sweet English Bulldog who we transferred from a kill shelter in Central Valley. She had suffered neglect and came to us with a serious ear infection as well as other medical concerns. Due to the severity of her ear infections, and after extensive vet care, Marabelle is now completely deaf. She is in a wonderful foster but she is now ready for her furever home! Marabelle is extremely gentle and loving, and an easy dog to be with. She gets along great with children and other dogs. Marabelle will be a wonderful companion for her new family. My pup Milkshake was born without eyes and then dumped in a graveyard, because she wasn’t “perfect.” Her old owners are definitely in my Burn Book. She can fetch, do tricks, and not having eyes hasn’t really impacted her life. Just don’t randomly pull a chair out on her and she’s good to go 🐶✨.

Lou Lou - Adoptable Lou Lou loves adventures and sticking close to her human. She has recently gone completely blind due to Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome and is now looking for a seeing eye person to share her life with. Lou Lou is a 9 year old mixed breed weighing in at 15lbs who is good with most other dogs and cats, travels well crated in the car, walks well on loose leash. Although she will often bark at the door to be let out she will also use pee pads. Or mats she mistakes for pee pads.
