It's twoprov time! When improvisers get to a certain level, there is real joy to be found in a twoprov. The freedom to create something from scratch, the responsibility for 50% of a show, and the opportunity to meet one other improviser exactly where your skills intersect means that twoprov is the ideal place to develop your artistic voice. That freedom means we don't have a roadmap, though; every twoprov should have its own voice, its own point of view. In this workshop we'll deconstruct our assumptions about what an improv show looks like, try a variety of approaches to find what works, and get/give feedback on twoprov works in progress. This class is ideally enjoyed if you sign up with your twoprov partner, but if you'd like to join solo send me a message and we'll see what we can do to pair you up. This class is intended for experienced improvisers, but because it's about finding what works for you that experience could be in any improv background. Improvised Film Noir coming your way! An 8 week online class about improvising Film Noir. Film Noir is a classic genre, focused on (but not limited to) 1940-60's Americana, detectives, spies, etc. - and it's one we improvise with a lot. In this class we'll explore the classic character archetypes, and bring them into the 21st century... Homme Fatale, anyone? We'll also work on narrative skills as we learn to improvise a mystery/whodunnit. It takes a lot of trust and confidence to improvise a show where the characters don't know what's going on! This class will suit both Film Noir buffs and folks who have never seen one - we'll talk through a few classics, and take lots of juicy improv skills from them. In its heyday, Morecambe Winter Gardens was a sparkling example of the entertainment venues that were the essence of British seaside towns. With lavish interiors and striking features, the original complex combined swimming baths, an aquarium, the winter gardens and restaurants. After a decline in British seaside holidays, by 1982 the whole complex was closed to the public. The only part that still remains is the theatre, which dates back to 1897. With help from DCMS’s Culture Recovery Fund, the Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust and the dedicated group of volunteers are a step closer to achieving their aim: 👉 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗜𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, so it can be at the heart of Morecambe once again. 👈 With Vanessa and Paul, we discuss: 🎤 The Legal issues the Trust encountered when taking ownership of the building. 🎤 How COVID affected the renovation process. 🎤 Renovating a historical venue to accommodate modern equipment.
