Whole Body Acting is a six-week class designed to deepen your character study by discovering the physical life and voice of each character. Through a series of exercises, you'll connect the voice and completely engage the body to communicate not only the text, but also the sub-text, relationships and environment. You'll sharpen your body awareness and sensitivity to critical elements that impact the life of each character. You'll learn to free the voice. You'll play the play. What do you do in the class? Every class starts out with a physical and vocal warm-up, with the first few classes having a thorough and complete warm-up, following by work on the text. As the class progresses, the warm-up becomes more efficient and more time is spent each class on applying the physical and vocal techniques to the text. I #loved all of them BUT I was absolutely, completely, bowled over and blown away by “The General of Hot Desire,” the last in the cycle, and the one that features the whole company. Essentially, it’s about the act of creation itself, examined through the lens of several stories from the Bible. 2024 Studio Retreat ✅ A weekend to remember! We got the opportunity to engage in some incredible mindset coaching and were challenged with questions to really elevate where we are NOW. 📍 🎥 Scene Fest 2024 was awesome! 6 different teams competed to develop their own scene based on random drawings of their teammates, genre, 1 sentence of dialogue, and a secret word! The scenes were ALL so creative and much fun was had. 🐎 We were able to take in the beauty that is the North Eastern hills of Oklahoma, spend time with horses, play games 🃏, and enjoy great food and company! 🌪️ Things got dicey real quick Saturday morning around 2am when we were all of a sudden surrounded by 3 rotation features and 1 reported tornado that had touched down near us! But we had a great plan in place and everyone quickly crammed into a safe house for shelter. We arrived just in time and waited the worst of it out. Thankfully we only experienced severe weather in our location and there was no damage other than a few trees. 📖 This will be one to remember and it was a great time to get out of Tulsa for a moment, reset, and reengage! 💥 Dream it! Something special 🧡 Peter Sellers went to see Simon Williams and Wilfrid Hyde-White in their play, a theatre production of Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband", on tour in England, in late 1976. Simon and Wilfrid played father and son. These beautiful polaroid pictures of Peter and Simon were taken by Juliet Hyde-White, Wilfrid's daughter. A big thank you and much gratitude to Juliet for generously sending these wonderful polaroids, and for allowing me to share them 🙏 Simon and Peter later worked together in film, in "The Prisoner of Zenda" in 1979, and in Peter's last film, "The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu" in 1980. Wilfrid had starred with Peter in a number of films, from "John & Julie", "Up the Creek", to the great 1960 movie "Two-Way Stretch", and "The Magic Christian" in 1969.
