So I see this random page show up every single day in my feed and can’t figure what it was. I go and look to see who and it used to be the canibeat first class figment page. Seems it was hacked by someone in Botswana back in 2019 and they’ve sold it and stolen it back. Remember all your information is out there on the dark web for usually $5 to hack and impersonate you. Always have 2 factor turned on for everything. No phone or encryption code . No login acesss. Then again I see people add random people thinking they are real and not gonna phish all their info. I get more random friend requests than Chinese language calls from DHL , Fido and ups now a days. It’s not just about the consistency of showing up 🔑 Even if you don’t read all of this, check out the 3 things I think helped us this week 🔥 Full week of training with @annie_taylorr and I think it’s safe to say we both gave it a good bash 😂🥵 We’ve had loads of weeks where we’ve trained but the point is, this week, the intensity just felt higher! We pushed those extra 1.25kgs on the barbell when we knew we could, we dug in that last set on that horrible Wayt Bike set and we even did some active recovery and mobility 👏🏼 Consistency is huge and if you e managed to build yourself to it, congratulations! But just showing up won’t get that faster 5k, those extra pull-ups or that heavier deadlift. You have to keep that intensity in each session and push for change, which is hard to do! CPD 📈 Looking forward to being on the British Weightlifting Course in March to get my level 1 & 2 then hopefully look towards my level 3 further down the line I only got into weightlifting thanks to Covid. Thought of the Week 💭 📸 - @mat_acton 🔥 Chatting with a driver (not this one) this week about feeling like they hadn’t done enough training this week and that it wasn’t good enough and couldn’t work out why So…. Over the past couple of years this driver has made HUGE improvements to their habits, routine and general outlook on the benefits of training consistently Being consistent will always be the thing that we look to achieve but that doesn’t mean it has to be 5-6 days forever 😮💨 Consistency doesn’t have to come down to volume. That’s where this particular conversation took us down the road of, the fact that they hit the gym 2-3 times this week rather than 4-6 is still completely fine! If you train regularly you’ll know the feeling of missing sessions and how it can almost feel like you let yourself down but just accept there will be another day 👌🏼 Training gives us a boost of endorphins and other hormones that can make us feel good, missing out on those can be noticeable to our mood Anyway…. Thought of the Week 💭 Students have been mentioning they were feeling tired after the first couple of weeks back to training, games and University So…. First things first, are you prioritising recovery, probably not because typically students stay up late, have to be up early and if you train in the evening your busy all day! Planning food, taking water bottles to class, having somethings to at least help with those basics would be a start Gym wise… dependant on the level of fatigue Do we reduce the volume firstly? taking a set off of each exercise reduced Basketballs (for example) set by almost 100 reps! Do we change the plan? Take out the heavy lifting and replace the supersets with more mobility work and include more “off-foot” conditioning to reduce impact Scratch the whole lot? Added my #skleds plug and play H11 leds to this 2021 dodge ram to replace the halogen bulbs as well as my canbus module to keep them working like oem and not have errors. These are brighter than my SKhids and just what the customer wanted. Increased night time visibility without any glare because my leds are made to focus light with the reflector just like the original halogens. Don’t be fooled by all these cheap and expensive plug and play leds that are brighter but only output light to each side only. So those bulbs glare at oncoming traffic and don’t give you the focused depth you need to see. They’re just glorified fog lights. A few days by the sea 🌊 It’s all about ⚖️ Being able to train hard, focus on your nutrition, sleep well, push yourself, and stay consistent takes a strong mindset and can be challenging Sometimes you need that reset, some time away so you can come back, be committed and ready to go at it again 💪🏼 A few days in Norfolk always gets my mind off of the usual expectations.
