Beth wants other moms to know that "Your child’s future is not bleak but bright. That while there are bad days, there are more great days with your child! There is more laughter than tears. I want moms to know that a disabled child makes their siblings better people, more empathetic, more understanding of people’s uniqueness." Linda shared, "I have learned the value of being consistent and valuing others before myself (Phil 2:3) which equates to loving even if it's not reciprocated because God's love and blessings are far more rewarding and ALL are made in the image of God." The support you receive will depend on your needs, it can help with practical support such as costs with travelling or specialist equipment. It can also be 1:1 sessions to help you manage your mental health at work. Did you know that Compassionate Cuppa is able to provide the 1:1 mental health mentoring under the Access to Work provision? If you work in Southampton or Winchester, the sessions could take place in person. Further afield, the sessions would be online on a regular basis. Each of our new ABLE employees and ABLE interns received tie-dyed craveABLEs staff shirts to showcase how everyone is different and that our diversity should be celebrated. The group then received training on the basics of serving ice cream and each served their families and friends.
