Occurring over three days in early September of 1982 - in 110 degree heat - in San Bernardino, inland Southern California, produced by Steve Wozniak, the US festival was apparently an epic shit show. 36 arrests, a reported twelve overdoses and one associated murder, a hitchhiker on their way back home, the festival lost over 12 million dollars it is said. They even tried to livestream the festival via satellite to Soviet Russia as a way to promote peace between us and them but experienced technical difficulties.
