Trying to change it up a bit. Originally I wanted to only post black and white photos here, because they are my passion. I have started to realize that some of my photos really do show better in colour, and because I will only post what I think looks good, I sometimes go weeks without adding a single photo. So I have decided to take a risk, post some colour photos,and see how it goes! I had originally posted this photo as a black and white conversion, but I think it does show best in colour. I took this photo with my Pentax Spotmatic camera that had some expired Agfacolor 100 left in it. It was extremely dark in this ravine, but there was a lovely shaft of light cutting a swath from the top right hand corner of the photo, illuminating this little boy. The first photo is the photo right out of the camera, and I love the the orange cast of the film really brought out the orange in his shirt. The photo is quite grainy and the boy isn’t completely in focus, but in the second photo I tried to bring out the light in the top right corner, and tidy it up a bit. The third photo is a complete Lightroom overhaul, and the fourth photo is the black and white conversion I originally posted last year. Film is something I really enjoy still, I find it quite a thrill to have to wait a few weeks or sometimes months to find out if I got the results I was looking for, or botched it badly. Film also makes us more selective of the shots we take, which for me is a good thing. I would love to know your honest thoughts!

I metered the roll at ISO 25, and although the selenium meter no longer worked on this camera, I used manual mode with the 1/40 shutter speed and adjustable aperture. Agfacolor XRG 100 35mm Film. I’ve been wanting to use my Olympus Pen EES half-frame 35mm camera, but didn’t want to shoot 48 frames from a 24 exposure roll, or 72 frames from a 36 exposure roll! I turned my expired color film bin upside-down, and found a 10 exposure roll of Agfa’s Agfacolor XGR 100 film from 1996. I metered the roll at ISO 25, and although the selenium meter no longer works on this camera, I could use manual mode with the 1/40 shutter speed and adjustable aperture. Hope you like the way I presented these half frame photos I took in landscape orientation, but show the adjacent frames to its left and right in portrait orientation. I know, it’s confusing!
