_My artist statement_ “Like evolution in nature, I strive to create perfection knowing that perfection is unreachable. My art is a pursuit of the evolution of my spiritual self.” I am a sensual artist. When I create I surrender my mind to let my feelings take over control. Many of my art pieces are dedicated to reflection, which represents an infinite motion process. It reminds me that there is nothing permanent in the world and changes happen every single moment. Modular painting is a significant part of my art. One piece reflects the other, showing an inconstancy and connection between everything and everyone in the Universe. From the warms of vibrant reds to the calming serenity of cool blues, the spectrum uncovers like a visual symphony. Nature is the best artist that implements the spectrum in its diverse forms. From the fascinating shades of a sunset painting the sky to the subtle gradients of a flower petal. T: As an artist and as a person I change throughout life just as my art does. At the beginning I created clear images. I took my inspiration from the art nouveau painting style. But now my style has changed significantly and I’m sure it will keep changing. I remember that one time when I came after the Chagall exhibition and started to paint in a completely different style than I used before. Some things inspire me to create and encourage me to try something new pushing me out of my comfort zone. Q: Do you have any rituals before you start painting? T: I do have some rituals before painting. I make myself a cold matcha, I open curtains to let natural light into the room, I close windows to prevent distractive sounds from the street, from time to time I put some music in a background and I clean my work place because it’s important for me to have a tidy space to create. Q: Do you earn income from your art? T: My art is not the only income that I have. But I strive to make it that way. I know it will happen sooner or later. “ Paestum” ~ I didn’t know this place even existed before visiting. It has 3 wonderfully preserved Greek temples dating between 450-550 BC. This one was a challenging one to do. T: It doesn’t happen often but when it does I try to use this time beneficially, sending my portfolio to the art galleries, improving the website and focusing on marketing. The vibrant colors and magnificent feathers of birds, along with the intriguing shapes of fish, truly inspire me. The textures of animals like snake skin or butterfly wings also spark my creativity. T: I try to paint as much as possible. From the few hours a day to the half of my weekly time. It always depends on how much time do I have and how busy my week is. Q: Do you experiment with styles? If yes how does it happen? T: I don't experiment with styles by my will but it does happen by a chance sometimes. I also can get inspired by the style of another artist and it can influence an art work I create at the current moment. Art is an experiment in general so I suppose styles can change several times throughout life. Q: Where else do you like to create besides your studio? T: I love working in my studio, which is placed in my home. I used to go out and make some sketches surrounded by nature but now I mostly paint at home because the most important thing for me is to be in peace and absolute solitude, to have a natural light and wide space. T: I always felt that this is something I want to do but I haven’t thought about to become an artist. I had different projects and I was hired to do murals and paintings but I only did it mostly for pleasure. And around three years ago I decided to start my career professionally. Q: How long does it take for a project? T: It always depends on a project and a deadline. The shortest period for one project for me was a month. It was a custom painting and I had a very tight deadline. Q: How do you decide how many canvas you will need for the next art work? T: If there is no limits and requirements for a project I decide it during the process. I can add some canvases or stay with the same amount. Q: What was the longest break from painting for you? T: I think the longest break was around a year. And I even thought that might not come back to create. But then I started again, I guess because I simply can not live without it. “Desire” When I started this art work an interesting idea appeared in my head. What if create a painting where each piece could complete the previous one, so the image will continue, keeping the pattern whole. “Desire” is a quadriptych that consist of four art pieces. During the creation process I paid a lot of attention to symmetry because it plays a significant role in my life as well as in my art. For this art work I used several colors: bright pink and vivid yellow, as well as dark, rich blue and purple. The painting turned out to have savory textures and ornaments, that create a desire, when we take a look at the art work. Desire is a feeling that we have towards something, whenever we think about our object of interest. A sweet anticipation of having it, that desire brings, shaping a nice feeling that we don’t want to end. The idea of “Desire” is well shown in the painting. The previous piece is flowing into the next one, creating an endless stream of desire, as it happens in life. “Desire” 30H/60w cm, total size 30h/240w, Canvas, acrylic.
