I welcome you to continue the rides, meet-ups and important conversations to strengthen our cycling community and presence here in Idaho Falls. For this one, we will NOT be meeting at MarCellars. Please see the details below. WHEN: Today, Tues May 14th at 6 pm (ready to roll) WHERE: Idaho Falls Public Library WHAT: 25ish-mile family-friendly, community ride with a 10 mph average pace (roughly 2.5 hours) FINISH: At Idaho Brewing Company OR Tap N Fill (your choice) GOAL: Bring a friend! Invite a City Council Member or Community Influencer. Ride and utilize the cycling-friendly paths, routes, and roads that we as pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to take. It's not always straightforward... and that's kinda the point ;-) Think of this as an Urban Adventure Ride. Some of this route does incorporate dirt, gravel, and a tiny bit of singletrack to connect bicycle paths and bike lanes (that is just the nature of traveling by bike or foot in this town). However, this route is 98% paved. ROUTE: The goal is to head north along the east side of the Snake River, crossing it near Osgood, coming back south on Lindsay Blvd, briefly heading west on 49th to bypass some of the business of town, then finishing at Idaho Brewing Company or Tap N Fill (your choice). There is one opportunity for food & water and a few vault toilets along the way. Other notes & points of discussion: - Please familiarize yourself with Idaho Cycling Laws (https://www.bikelaw.com/laws/idaho/) - Route subject to change based on weather & group preference - Bring front & rear lights, flat repair & tool kit, snacks, water & rain gear (bonus points for hi-viz) - This is a non-guided, community ride.
