And with new data also showing that around a third of all Londoners believe Khan’s Ultra-Low Emission Zone expansion and Low Traffic Neighbourhood roll outs have been poor or very poor, it is little wonder that he has been a regular on the campaign trail in recent weeks, trying to persuade voters wherever he can that he won’t destroy our capital’s transport infrastructure any more than he already has. The truth is that Khan’s divisive traffic policies fail to address the needs of Londoners. His approach is little more than the “greenwashing” of an inadequate and short-term stop gap to our city’s transport needs. While Khan poses for photographs on Superloop buses in outer London, elsewhere our double-deckers are stuck in traffic jams, caused in no small part by the imposition of his LTNs and the inevitable traffic increase they cause on nearby roads.
